Gathering of Eagles: Mission Statement

The Gathering of Eagles is a defense, not an attack.
I know that a few US Army paratroopers and Marines from the Viet Nam war will be there at the Wall. If there's one thing, aside from love of country, that they share, it's knowing how to fight when surrounded.
1. Gathering of Eagles is non-partisan. While each member has his or her own political beliefs, our common love and respect for America and her heroes is what brings us together.
2. We are a non-violent, non-confrontational group. We look to defend, not attack. Our focus is guarding our memorials and their grounds.
3. We believe that the war memorials are sacred ground; as such, we will not allow them to be desecrated, used as props for political statements, or treated with anything less than the solemn and heartfelt respect they-and the heroes they honor-deserve.
4. We are wholly and forever committed to our brothers and sisters in uniform. As veterans, we understand their incredible and noble sacrifices, made of their own accord for a nation they love more than life itself. As family members, we stand by them, and as Americans, we thank God for them.
5. We believe in and would give our lives for the precious freedoms found in our Constitution. We believe that our freedom of speech is one of the greatest things our country espouses, and we absolutely hold that any American citizen has the right to express his or her approval or disapproval with any policy, law, or action of our nation and her government in a peaceful manner as afforded by the laws of our land.
6. However, we are adamantly opposed to the use of violence, vandalism, physical or verbal assaults on our veterans, and the destruction or desecration of our memorials. By defending and honoring these sacred places, we defend and honor those whose blood gave all of us the right to speak as freely as our minds think.
7. We vehemently oppose the notion that it is possible to "support the troops but not the war." We are opposed to those groups who would claim support for the troops yet engage in behavior that is demeaning and abusive to the men and women who wear our nation's uniform.
8. We believe in freedom at all costs, including our own lives. We served to protect the freedoms Americans enjoy, and we agree with Thomas Jefferson's assertion that "From time to time, the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
9. We will accept nothing less than total, unqualified victory in the current conflict. Surrender is not an option, nor is defeat.
10. We stand to challenge any group that seeks the destruction of our nation, its founding precepts of liberty and freedom, or those who have given of themselves to secure those things for another generation. We will be silent no more.
Silent no more!

I will see the Eagles as they ride from San Francisco to Washington, DC, as they pause on March 14th at the CNN Building in Atlanta.

Libby: A Victim

Scooter Libby, former chief of staff for VP Cheney, found guilty of 4 of 5 charges stemming from the Federal Grand Jury investigation into the non-crime of leaking that Mrs Plame worked at the CIA.
Richard Armitage 'leaked' that she worked for the CIA, and that she arranged for her husband to go to Niger.
Her Husband, Joe Wilson, lied about what he learned in Niger. He goal was to undermine the Bush Administration.
Scooter Libby, who testified 7 times before the Grand Jury, was inconsistent in his testimony. What honest person wouldn't be somewhat inconsistent in recalling conversations which occurred more than 2 years prior.

A member of the jury, a former Washington Post reporter, stated he was looking for Rove, or Cheney...WAS THIS JURY BIAS AGAINST THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION?

Fact: It was known that no crime was committed, before the investigation was launched - Mrs. Plame was not a covert agent. She was simply a CIA employee.

Fact: It was known one month into investigation, that Richard Armitage leaked the information about Mrs Plame.

The charges need to be overturned on appeal because there was no underlying crime for the grand jury to investigation. This is a gross miscarriage of justice.

I Wish Ann Would Be Quiet

An Open Letter to CPAC Sponsors and Organizers Regarding Ann Coulter
Conservatism treats humans as they are, as moral creatures possessing rational minds and capable of discerning right from wrong. There comes a time when we must speak out in the defense of the conservative movement, and make a stand for political civility. This is one of those times.
Ann Coulter used to serve the movement well. She was telegenic, intelligent, and witty. She was also fearless: saying provocative things to inspire deeper thought and cutting through the haze of competing information has its uses. But Coulter’s fearlessness has become an addiction to shock value. She draws attention to herself, rather than placing the spotlight on conservative ideas.
At the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2006, Coulter referred to Iranians as “ragheads.” She is one of the most prominent women in the conservative movement; for her to employ such reckless language reinforces the stereotype that conservatives are racists.
At CPAC 2007 Coulter decided to turn up the volume by referring to John Edwards, a former U.S. Senator and current Presidential candidate, as a “faggot.” Such offensive language–and the cavalier attitude that lies behind it–is intolerable to us. It may be tolerated on liberal websites but not at the nation’s premier conservative gathering.
The legendary conservative thinker Richard Weaver wrote a book entitled Ideas Have Consequences. Rush Limbaugh has said again and again that “words mean things.” Both phrases apply to Coulter’s awful remarks.
Coulter’s vicious word choice tells the world she care little about the feelings of a large group that often feels marginalized and despised. Her word choice forces conservatives to waste time defending themselves against charges of homophobia rather than advancing conservative ideas.
Within a day of Coulter’s remark John Edwards sent out a fundraising email that used Coulter’s words to raise money for his faltering campaign. She is helping those she claims to oppose. How does that advance any of the causes we hold dear?
Denouncing Coulter is not enough. After her “raghead” remark in 2006 she took some heat. Yet she did not grow and learn. We should have been more forceful. This year she used a gay slur. What is next? If Senator Barack Obama is the de facto Democratic Presidential nominee next year will Coulter feel free to use a racial slur? How does that help conservatism?
One of the points of CPAC is the opportunity it gives college students to meet other young conservatives and learn from our leaders. Unlike on their campuses—where they often feel alone—at CPAC they know they are part of a vibrant political movement. What example is set when one highlight of the conference is finding out what shocking phrase will emerge from Ann Coulter’s mouth? How can we teach young conservatives to fight for their principles with civility and respect when Ann Coulter is allowed to address the conference? Coulter’s invective is a sign of weak thinking and unprincipled politicking.
CPAC sponsors, the Age of Ann has passed. We, the undersigned, request that CPAC speaking invitations no longer be extended to Ann Coulter. Her words and attitude
simply do too much damage.

Media Matters Attacks Michelle Malkin

Eric Boehlert of Media Matters, goes after Michelle Malkin in bid for more readers.

Calling the Howard Kurtz profile of Ms Malkin in the Washington Post, a Valentine Week mash note.

Mr. Boehlert says this about Michelle:

Malkin is the
field general for a squad of bitter pro-war dead-enders who lash out online
against anyone who dares speak the truth about the war. She
has been wrong about Iraq in every conceivable way, with
a losing streak dating back more than 50 straight months.

Mr. Boehlert is correct in calling Ms Malkin the 'field general', but he is wrong about the Iraq War.

Mr Boehlert continues with:

See, GOP warbloggers can't lose. If they'd been right about Iraq,
The Washington Post surely would have toasted them. But
even after they continually make fools of themselves prognosticating all sorts
of falsehoods about the war, The Washington Post still
toasts them. As for the articulate bloggers on the left who opposed the war
from the outset and who insisted the White House had not made a coherent case
for launching a pre-emptive war? The Post couldn't care less about them.

Okay, who is factually challenged here. President Bush convinced a vast majority of American People and the Congress that we needed to invade Iraq in 2002. The MSM has been chipping away, one false misleading story after another.

Now which bloggers does Mr Boehlert like?

Markos "screw'em" Zuniga of DailyKos.com, a site which enforces anti-bush, anti-american groupthink.

Matt Stoller of MyDD.com, a site which is sad that Vice-President Cheney is still alive.

Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post, a site which had over 400 comments today complaining that VP Cheney lives. (They have without comment, toned their post down and deleted several hundred comments.)

More attacks coming:

It's
the absolutely central point about Malkin that the Post neglected -- Malkin
claims journalists covering Iraq are either cowards or siding with the terrorists who are trying to
kill Americans (or both). As her
fellow warblogger Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs puts it with a
headline he routinely uses, "The Media Are the Enemy."
Yet the Post profile politely
omitted any reference to Malkin's repugnant claim that journalists are
terrorist-sympathizer traitors.

Eric,

Michelle and Charles are correct: The US Media is the Enemy. With their whitewashing of individual jihadis (mass murderers), their refusal to admit that some Muslims in the US are a danger to society.

Eric,

Get over the fact, that Michelle Malkin is more respected than you will ever be.

Eagles: These Colors Don't Run

Gathering of Eagles

This morning I overheard several 'Eagles' who planned to be in Washington to protect the Vietnam Memorial from harm during the planned 'Anti' march in March.

Was refreshing to hear veterans, yes, they were all Vietnam veterans, planning to protect the sacred memories of their fallen buddies - And some of these men are opposed to the war in Iraq.

They also predicted the media coverage will be spun to make the 'Eagles' look bad.

Beware the Ides of March....

The Battle will be joined on the Mall in Washington, DC.

I hope the Eagles far out-number the 'Anti's' but most Eagles have gainful employment ( A job) and family that depends on them.

Because of the Victory at Iwo Jima, We have FREEDOM.
And we will DEFEND FREEDOM AT ALL COSTS.

We kneel before Emperor MISHA

Iwo Jima

And the crowd went wild!!!

The US Marines and Sailors who saw the American flag atop Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima, cheered wildly.

From the main deck of USS Eldorado, a beaming Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal turned to Marine General Holland M. 'Howlin' Mad' Smith and exclaimed, “Holland, the raising of that flag on Suribachi means a Marine Corps for the next 500 years.”

a picture is worth.....

Yes, terrorists are celebrating the 'non-binding' resolution against American Victory in Iraq. This 'non-binding' resolution gives aid and comfort to the merchants of death around the world, it encourages attacks on US and Allied Troops,
it encourages the mass murder of innocent men, women, and children.
This resolution against US troops is the product of the Democratic Party victory last November, The Democrats will celebrate the defeat of US Troops.
Terrorists are worshiping the Democrats for their stupidity and dhimitude.

Congressmen Murtha (D-PA) idea to have Congress approve each soldier being deployed, is a shameless attempt to defeat the US Military in the field. His proposal to require congressional certification of readiness for each deploying unit, to require 1 year between deployments, to limit the number of times and individual soldier can deploy, is a shameless attempt to have Congress assume duties as Commander in Chief. Congress Murtha is an idiot, who will kill thousands of American troops if his plan is approved by Congress. Plus, his plan will also led to the death of millions of Iraqis.

Useful Idiots - that is what the Democrats are.
They are Useful Idiots helping the Muslims murder innocent men, women, and children.

Lonely Blogger

Howard Kurtz, of the Washington Post, wrote about Michelle Malkin in his column today:

"They'll ridicule my looks, ridicule my ethnicity, go after my family," the
36-year-old blogger [Michelle] says of her critics. "They've attacked my husband
relentlessly. There's a strong sexist strain among my liberal critics, who think
it isn't possible I could have gotten anywhere without my Svengali husband, or
some white man, embedding ideas in my head."
Make no mistake, though: This
daughter of Filipino immigrants plays pretty rough herself. Whether on her blog,
her Internet talk show or her Fox News appearances, Malkin delights in sticking
her finger in the eye of the liberal establishment. And she is convinced that
her detractors don't play fair.
......
"You have to accept that you'll
never have many friends," Malkin says. "It's a lonely existence."

WRONG, Michelle, you have plenty of friends, myself included.

The Gathering Storm

I find myself looking at the news these days with a darkened spirit. The transient in the city streets, holding a sign that says "The End is Near" has become somewhat of an American colloquialism. Now, it's as if I'm suddenly seeing him before me, but he isn't talking about the end of the world...he's talking about the end of the America I know and love.

........

........

Either we learn from history, or like France, we simply rewrite it and wipe from the slate any record of the upstart nation that dared to speak for freedom, and dared to refuse to apologize for it.

Go read the whole essay.

Do it now!

Give Me Liberty or Give Me.....

There once was a patriot named Patrick McHenry who said:

"Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!"

They must be related.

Congressman Patrick McHenry (North Carolina 10)

Please click here to see the actual floor speech

Mr. McHenry: "After months of campaigning against stay the course, the democrats are proposing just that. A stay the course resolution here on the house floor. Their Iraq resolution does not have the force of law and in fact this nonbinding resolution is simply a mealy-mouthed attempt to appease their democrat leftist base. Democrats have held 52 hearings on Iraq since taking control of congress. Let me get this right. The democrats have held 52 hearings so they can show one resolution on the house floor that has no bearing on the president's policy, does not have the force of law, does not advocate the withdrawal of troops, and does nothing except have a tantrum here on the house floor. So please explain this new direction, madam speaker. This is not a new direction. It's political posturing of the worst kind. Madam speaker, where's your plan? Where's your plan for victory in Iraq? Where's your plan for success and national security? I yield back.

Salt Lake City Killer Indentified As Bosnian Muslim

Killer identified as 18-year-old Solejman Talovic

The 18-year-old man who shot and killed at least five people Monday night at Trolley Square has been identified as Solejman Talovic, a Bosnian refugee who lived in Salt Lake City.

Little additional information was released about Talovic.

The Bosnian community, which numbers about 3,000 in Utah, planned a press conference later this afternoon.

Talovic parked his car in the west parking lot and walked into the mall, encountering two people, whom he shot. Then he walked further into the mall and shot a woman, said Police Chief Chris Burbank.

He then walked to a gift shop and shot five people. He shot several other people before he was gunned down by an off-duty Ogden police officer assisted by four Salt Lake City police officers, Burbank said.

He had a backpack that carried numerous rounds of ammunition as well as a .38-caliber handgun, said the chief.

unDemocratic Congress

From the AP via Examiner.com

Determined to send an unambiguous and bipartisan message of disapproval for the troop buildup, Democrats moved Monday night to block Republicans from proposing any alternative, including one that would have guaranteed funding for U.S. forces in Iraq.

The approach reflects the dilemma facing Democrats on the war, which figured prominently in their rise to power. There is broad support for the Democratic-written resolution opposing Bush's plan to add 21,500 troops. But many rank-and-file members - particularly moderate newcomers who rode to Congress on a wave of public discontent about Iraq - are wary of casting any vote that could be construed as ending funding for the mission.

...

House Republicans assailed Democrats Tuesday for barring them from offering their own Iraq resolution, accusing them of stifling votes on a vital issue.

Rep. David Dreier of California, the senior Rules Committee Republican, said the constraints rendered the 36-hour debate that opened Tuesday morning "really little more than a joke."

Democratic leaders had said earlier that Republicans would have a chance to offer their own measure, but quickly reversed course, and the leadership-controlled Rules Committee voted Monday night to deny the minority the option.

"It became clear to us that the only way we could give to the American people a very clear indication of where the Congress stood as it related to the president's proposal was this process," Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland said.

Democrats want no debate,

Democrats want power,

Democrats don't listen to differing views,

Democrats tell you what to think.

Victory Caucus

I have joined the Victory Caucus

The Mission Statement:

We support victory in the war against radical Islamists. We supported the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, and we believe victory is necessary in both countries for America's self-defense.

If that sounds right to you, then join us: register an account here , and let us know as much (or as little) as you care to share about yourself with your fellow Caucus members. One of the main goals of this effort is to show our leaders that there is a broad and influential community of citizens (and voters --- and donors) who believe victory is necessary. So the more info you can share with us, the more credibly we can convey that message --- but it's entirely up to you how much you'd like to share.

Be sure to stop by the group blog, where our Board of Governors is now discussing the fundamental question "What is Victory?". Stay up to date on the latest news with our war news feeds , check out the latest Congressional speeches in our media gallery , and most importantly --- browse our directory of troop-support organizations and find ways that you can directly help the men and women who are fighting and have fought to achieve victory.

Then what? Check out our Forums, where you can join in the discussion yourself. Feel free to post new topics for discussion, or join in the two that I've kicked off: first, answer our question to the Board of Governors yourself: What is Victory ? And second, tell us what the leadership in the House of Representatives should be thinking this week as they debate resolutions on Iraq .

Finally: spread the word! If you have a blog, tell your readers about us. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell your coworkers! We know that the vast majority of Americans want victory --- and by gathering us in one place, we hope we can convince our leaders in Washington that victory is indeed the only option they should be considering.

Former Senator, now perpetual Presidential Candidate, John Edwards hired 2 bloggers for his campaign, Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan.

These 2 woman are typical left-wing 'nutroots' bloggers, profane and vulgar. They tried to erase some of their more idiotic posts, and got burned.

Lesson Learned - once posted on the 'net, you can't take it back.

Many people called for Mr Edwards to 'fire' these two, many people called for Mr Edwards to keep them on staff.

Mr Edwards has decided to keep them. A dangerous decision.

This hiring of two vulgar writers and the surprise at the reaction to their hiring, shows how little 'vetting' was done before they were hired.

Does this show the 'presidential' talent of Mr Edwards? I don't think so.

Because I'm free

I can post this.
Even if it is shamelessly stolen from Al Jeezra. !;-})

Navy-Marine Corps Team

Prediction

1st Lt. Ehren Watada, 28, of Honolulu, is charged with refusing to ship out with his unit and conduct unbecoming an officer for accusing the Army of war crimes and denouncing the administration for conducting an “illegal war” founded on “lies.”

He will be convicted on all counts by the General Courts Martial, and he will receive the maximum sentence permitted.

He will appeal to the Army Court of Appeals (or whatever they call it.) He will claim his rights were trampled because the Courts Martial did not allow him to argue the legality of the Iraq War. He will lose this appeal, convection and full sentence will be upheld.

He will appeal to the Court of Military Appeals. They will not hear the appeal.

He will appeal to the US Supreme Court.
They will take the case. They will allow arguments on the legality of the war.
Stephens and Ginsburg will declare the war illegal.
Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito will uphold the legality of the war.
Kennedy, Breyer, and Souter are questionable, but I think they will uphold the legality of the US military action in Iraq.

Final answer:
7-2 the military action in Iraq will be declared legal.
9-0 the convictions and sentence will be upheld.

The military action in Iraq is legal under US law:
The US Congress Authorized the Use of Military Force and
The President has used military force in Iraq following the limitations within the AUMF.
The United Nations also authorized the use of force. (only a minor item, of obeying treaty requirements.)
The US Congress has periodically re-authorized the use of military force by funding the effort.

Lt. Watada please enjoy your time at Fort Leavenworth.
And your Dishonorable Discharge as Pvt. Watada.
And Mr. Watada, do remember to include this Federal Felony Conviction on all future job applications.

Mr Watada, your stunt of joining the Army, after the military action in Iraq began and then refusing to follow your deployment orders -- will not led to the impeachment of President Bush. It will not get the President accused of war crimes.

Hope Rides Alone

USA
Sgt. Eddie Jeffers, USA (Iraq)

February 1, 2007

And to
think, I volunteered for this...

And I
am ignorant to the rest of the world...or so I thought.

But
even thousands of miles away, in Ramadi, Iraq, the cries and screams and
complaints of the ungrateful reach me. a year, I will be thrust back into
society from a life and mentality that doesn't fit your average man.
then, I will be alone. then, I will walk down the streets of America,
and see the yellow ribbon stickers on the cars of the same people who
compare our President to Hitler.

Go read it ALL.

Quote

In the darkest days of World War II, Churchill offered a warning that spans the decades and is apropos today.

"Victory at all costs,
victory in spite of all terror,
victory however long and hard the road may be;
for without victory, there is no survival."

Financial Aid for College

UGH!

The damned financial aid forms are worse than the federal tax forms.

Colleges should just do and file the taxes for the parents of their students.

Plus, you must submit 2 years of tax returns including the W2's!

Gates of Vienna: The Rise of Glossocracy

Gates of Vienna: The Rise of Glossocracy

Just as Nicolaus Copernicus in the 16th century demonstrated that the sun does not revolve around the earth, so too the traditional media outlets are slowly discovering that the information society no longer revolves around their editorial policies. It’s the Second Copernican Revolution. We have yet to determine just how significant it is, but it is already creating visible cracks in the edifice of the Glossocratic Empire.

A Great Value at Wal-Mart

At my local Wal-Mart last night, I spied a $1.00 DVD by the checkouts: World War II, The German Front.
This DVD has 4 sections:
"Prelude to War" a US training film.
"The Nazi Strike" a Frank Capra documentary
"The Secret Life of Hilter"
"Nuremburg Trials" a 1946 Soviet documentary

As I watched it, I realized how the methods used by Hitler are being used again. The claim that all Germans must obey Berlin, not their local governments. (Muslims must obey Shari'a Law not local laws.)

The screencaps are from the DVD.

Does anyone in Congress care?

This is the question asked by Oliver North.

This is from North's column on RealClearPolitics.com:

A military officer, who has served in Iraq, said this to Mr North:
"These politicians who think we can win a war by committee. Do they even know that in the last two weeks we have set AQI (Al Qaeda in Iraq) and the Mahdi Army both back on their heels?" he answered. I was silent, so he continued, "Is there anyone in Washington who understands what this means? AQI terrorists are running like rats out of Ramadi. And the Mahdi Army is being cleaned out of Baghdad. Do they know how much harder all this rhetoric makes our job?"
*****
Does Congress even care about how their pompous actions harm our troops in the field?
NO, Most members of Congress, didn't care about how their words and actions cause harm.
Most of the elected officials on Capital Hill only care about their latest poll numbers.
Actual concern about the people of this country, no.
Actual concern about how their words and actions support the Islamofacists. none.

Why fight?

> "If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed;
> if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly;
> you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival.
> There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."
> Sir Winston Churchill

The Democrat worth supporting

"The Kennedy inaugural was the single . . . speech that brought me into
public life. Those famous words 'Pay any price, bear any burden, meet
any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure
the survival and the success of liberty.' That's what it has meant to me to be a Democrat."

Pledge for National Security

From Hugh Hewitt:

If the United States Senate
passes a resolution, non-binding or otherwise, that criticizes the
commitment of additional troops to Iraq that General Petraeus has asked
for and that the president has pledged, and if the Senate does so after
the testimony of General Petraeus on January 23 that such a resolution
will be an encouragement to the enemy, I will not contribute to any
Republican senator who voted for the resolution. Further, if any
Republican senator who votes for such a resolution is a candidate for
re-election in 2008, I will not contribute to the National Republican
Senatorial Committee unless the Chairman of that Committee, Senator
Ensign, commits in writing that none of the funds of the NRSC will go
to support the re-election of any senator supporting the non-binding
resolution.

I accept this pledge.

Take the pledge, and tell the NRSC:

Day by Day: State of the Union

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

The State of the Union

In such courage and compassion, ladies and gentlemen, we see the spirit and character of America – and these qualities are not in short supply. This is a decent and honorable country – and resilient, too. We have been through a lot together. We have met challenges and faced dangers, and we know that more lie ahead. Yet we can go forward with confidence – because the State of our Union is strong ... our cause in the world is right ... and tonight that cause goes on.
[big finish to a great speech]

Frisking the Prebuttal

Democratic Response of Senator Jim Webb To the President’s State of the Union Address
**Exclusive**
Tue Jan 23 2007 19:10:01 ET

Let me simply say that we in the Democratic Party hope that this administration is serious about improving education and healthcare for all Americans, and addressing such domestic priorities as restoring the vitality of New Orleans.
[restoring New Orleans - A national priority? huh? - OKAY, Then we need to KICK the DEMOCRATS in the ARSE, since it is the DEMOCRATS in New Orleans who are BLOCKING the rebuilding by their own corruption.]

And under the leadership of the new Democratic Congress, we are on our way to doing so. The House just passed a minimum wage increase, the first in ten years, and the Senate will soon follow. [EXCEPT for Corporations in Pelosi's District.] We've introduced a broad legislative package designed to regain the trust of the American people. We’ve established a tone of cooperation and consensus that extends beyond party lines. [By not Permitting Republicans to offer changes]

Like so many other Americans, today and throughout our history, we serve and have served, not for political reasons, but because we love our country. On the political issues – those matters of war and peace, and in some cases of life and death – we trusted the judgment of our national leaders. We hoped that they would be right, that they would measure with accuracy the value of our lives against the enormity of the national interest that might call upon us to go into harm’s way.

We owed them our loyalty, as Americans, and we gave it. But they owed us – sound judgment, clear thinking, concern for our welfare, a guarantee that the threat to our country was equal to the price we might be called upon to pay in defending it.

The war’s costs to our nation have been staggering. Financially. The damage to our reputation around the world. The lost opportunities to defeat the forces of international terrorism. And especially the precious blood of our citizens who have stepped forward to serve. [What about the cost of failure? The cost of failure caused by the DEMOCRATS and Liberal US MEDIA doing everything possible to prevent victory. The intentional leaking of LEGAL programs designed to protect the country. The constant undermining of the American Military by promoting any and all bad news while ignoring all the good that our troops have done in Iraq and Afganistan.]

THE DEMOCRAT PLAN: OPPOSE ANYTHING BUSH SUPPORTS.

Why Support the War

Freedom of Speech
- The cornerstone of Western Civilization
- Freedom of Speech * DOES NOT * exist in Islam
- Dissent is NOT ALLOWED in Islam

Freedom of Worship
- A basic tenet of Western Civilization
- Freedom of Worship is FORBIDDEN in Islam
- Under Islamic Law, you must worship Allah or DIE
- Under Shari'a Law, you can convert to Islam, But You CANNOT convert from Islam

Freedom from Want
- Western Civilization strives to provide equal opportunity to succeed for all.
- The poorest people in the world live under Islam
- And despite charity being one of the five tenets of Islam, the poor are ignored by Islam

Freedom from Fear
- Western Civilization works to protect the innocent
- Islam targets the innocent men, women, and children.

Treatment of Women
- Women are equal under Western Civilized Law
- Women are considered property under Islamic Law

The War in Iraq is one front in the War Against Islamic Terrorists
- This is simply a continuation of the War Between Christians and Muslims which started when the (False) Prophet Mohammad (Pigs Be Upon Him) founded the Islamic faith.
- Islam has always been spread by the sword.
- Islam demands the death of any who convert from the 'true faith'.

The United States must remain in Iraq until the Iraqis are strong enough to protect themselves from the murderous Islamic Militants who currently dominate Islam.

The United States must fight Militant Muslims wherever and whenever they appear, until Islam is either eliminated completely from the face of the Earth or until Islam truly reforms and matures into a peaceful religion.

Our Navy's First Purpose

To stop Islamic pirates. (From Powerline)

Oren demonstrates that suspicion and hostility toward
Islam are almost as old as the nation. John Quincy Adams called it a
"fanatic and fraudulent" religion, founded on "the natural hatred of
Mussulmen towards the infidel."

This was partly religious prejudice, of course, but that prejudice was reinforced by unfortunate experience. In the perilous early years of the republic, the Muslim Barbary powers preyed on American shipping and captured, tortured and enslaved hundreds of innocent men and women. When John Adams and Thomas Jefferson implored the pasha of Tripoli to stop, Oren recounts, the pasha's emissary insisted that the Koran made it the "right and duty" of Muslims "to make war upon" whichever infidels "they could find and to make Slaves of all they could take as prisoners." George Washington raged, "Would to Heaven we had a navy to reform those enemies to mankind, or crush them into non-existence." And Congress did create a navy in the 1790s primarily to crush the Barbary powers and protect American traders and missionaries. President
Jefferson -- so often mislabeled as an idealist, pacifist and isolationist -- eagerly launched the war and ordered the permanent stationing of U.S. naval forces thousands of miles from the nation's shores.

As Oren relates, the modest number of 19th-century Americans who lived in the Middle East largely considered Islam -- in the words of a former Confederate officer hired to improve the Egyptian army -- a religion "born of the sword," one that was "opposed to enlightenment" and crushed "all independence of thought and action." They found the oppression of Muslim women appalling. Being Americans, they thought the
best antidote was a thorough transformation of culture and society. Protestant missionaries utterly failed to convert Muslims to Christianity, but they did work to spread the "gospel of Americanism": liberalism, technology and democracy.

Update on Senator Johnson

Statement from the Office of Senator Johnson

Friday, January 19, 2007

Washington, DC—U.S. Senator Tim Johnson's (D-SD) progress continues as he has been working with parallel bars and participating in speech therapy, including naming objects. Just yesterday, he had his tracheostomy removed. Johnson is making consistent progress in his recovery, however, it is anticipated that his rehabilitation will take several months.

"Senator Johnson is participating in approximately three hours of physical, occupational and speech therapy a day in our in-patient rehabilitation unit," says Philip Marion, MD, Division Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the George Washington University Hospital. "His program includes strengthening exercises to gain mobility on his right side."

"Our family is delighted with Tim's progress. He develops more skills each day and typically exceeds the goals that others set for him. It is obvious to us that his personal goal is complete recovery and he is working hard to make that happen. We know that he continues to be supported in his efforts by the prayers of South Dakotans and many others," said Barb Johnson, wife of Senator Johnson.

Get Well, Senator.

Barak Obama

Barak Obama
Was born a Muslim, started school in a Muslim nation at a Muslim school..
His family moved to America.
He finished his education in American schools.
He nows attends a Christian Church.

Muslims will consider him an apostate.
Muslims will offer Obama a chance to return to the true faith (Islam).
If he does not return to Islam -
Muslims would be required to kill him on sight.
If he does return to Islam -
Will America be able to follow him?
Hmmm.....

Fly US Airways

The cave-in of Northwest Airlines is quick, and complete:
Northwest apologizes, vows to reimburse Muslims barred from flight.
This is in response to the 40 who where left off their flight from Germany, because they arrived only 20 minutes before the flight. I guess all the other passengers should have been delayed by the hour(s) it would have taken to clear those 40 to be on the flight. These 40 were treated like any other passengers, they were placed on other flights home.
The only thing I can say is: "Fly US Airways".

Hatred - part 3

Castro - Dead Again

According to the AP (not a good source):

Ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro is in "very grave" condition after three failed operations and complications from an intestinal infection, a Spanish newspaper said Tuesday.
The newspaper El Pais cited two unnamed sources from the Gregorio Maranon hospital in the Spanish capital of Madrid. The facility employs surgeon Jose Luis Garcia Sabrido, who flew to Cuba in December to treat the 80-year-old Castro.
In a report published on its Web site, El Pais said: "A grave infection in the large intestine, at least three failed operations and various complications have left the Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro, laid up with a very grave prognosis."

There is no science but mecca science

http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=23978_Egyptian_Researcher_Blinded_by_Science&only

Dr. Abd Al-Baset Al-Sayyed of the Egyptian National Research Center explains the "science" behind his call to abolish Greenwich Mean Time and replace it with ... you guessed it ... Mecca time! (Courtesy of MEMRI TV <http://memritv.org/search.asp?ACT=S9&P1=1349>.)

Abd Al-Baset Al-Sayyid: When British colonialism or the British kingdom were in control, and it was "an empire on which the sun never sets," it imposed Greenwich Mean Time. This creates two problems for the world. The first problem is that in Greenwich, the magnetic field of Earth is 8.5 degrees, whereas in Mecca the magnetic field is zero.

Abd Al-Baset Al-Sayyid: It has been proven that there is a certain discrepancy if we calculate it according to Greenwich. This discrepancy has been estimated as 8.5 minutes between the northern and southern hemispheres.
Interviewer: How much?
Abd Al-Baset Al-Sayyid: 8.5 minutes. Air traffice cannot be organized this way. They are aware of this, and so they try to change it.

14 Carter Center Board Members Quit Over Book

From WSBTV.com

The resignations announced Thursday are the latest in a backlash
against the former president's book "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid."

The members of the Center's Board of Councilors wrote of Carter in the
letter of resignation "you have clearly abandoned your historic role of
broker in favor of becoming an advocate for one side."

The 14 who resigned are members of the 200-member board.

Nice, 14 honest people out of 200.

The other 186 must have their 'tin-foil hats' on.

The 'Palestinian problem' can be summed simply:

Palestinians want to kill - Israelis want to live.

Free Speech vs Hate Speech

From the Gates of Vienna:
These students are in the revolutionary vanguard of the softened-up, so that by the time Congress slips through a law that actually criminalizes “hate speech”, the constant repetition of the mantra “hate speech is not free speech” will have taken its toll. Everybody will already be used to the idea, will accept it as a given, and, after the required Supreme Court decision, the new, leaner version of the First Amendment will become the law of the land.

If you think I’m being paranoid or overreacting, then you haven’t seen Rep. John Conyers’ proposed kid-gloves-for-the-Koran resolution, H. Res. 288 (the full text is here):

Resolved, That the House of Representatives —

1. condemns bigotry, acts of violence, and intolerance against any religious group, including our friends, neighbors, and citizens of the Islamic faith;
2. declares that the civil rights and civil liberties of all individuals, including those of the Islamic faith, should be protected;
3. recognizes that the Quran, the holy book of Islam, as any other holy book of any religion, should be treated with dignity and respect; and
4. calls upon local, State, and Federal authorities to work to prevent bias-motivated crimes and acts against all individuals, including those of the Islamic faith.

This is pernicious on so many levels that it’s hard to know where to start. It asserts that one person’s right to be respected overrides another person’s right to speak freely. It singles out a single religion, Islam, for special treatment. It accords the holy book of the Muslims more respect than is owed the flag of the United States.
Baron's suggestion is to post "I Hate Niggers" or "IHN", in many places.

I disagree.

We should post - "Islam is a Death Cult" (IiaDC)
or refer to Allah's (Satan's) Prophet Mohammad (Pigs Be Upon Him).

This outlawing of 'Hate Speech' is not focused on race relations. I do not hate niggers. I hate Mass Murdering Muslims.

How to survive anything

THINK ABOUT THIS FOR A MOMENT.
Denver Post:
This text is from a county emergency manager out in the central part of Colorado after todays snowstorm.
WEATHER BULLETIN
Up here, in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a Historic event--- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions" --- with a historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.

FYI:
George Bush did not come.

FEMA did nothing.
No one howled for the government.
No one blamed the government.
No one even uttered an expletive on TV .
Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.
Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.
Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.
CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this category 5 snowstorm. Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.
No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.
No one looted.
Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.
Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.
No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo Rivera.
No Sean Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be found.
Nope, we just melted the snow for water.
Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.
The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't ask for a penny.
Local restaurants made food and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snowbound families.
Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.
We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.
We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or Die".
We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for 'sittin at home' checks.
Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.
"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north of about 48 degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems evaporate."
It does seem that way, at least to me.
I hope this gets passed on.
Maybe SOME people will get the message. The world does Not owe you a living.

It would be great if the rest of the country thought like this. W. Duke 01-01-07

Scrappleface gets serious

Scott Ott of Scrappleface is a humorist who writes with a twisted but painfully true look at the days news.

But this exchange with an editor from the San Francisco Bay area is different, Scott gets serious.

selected bits:

In the immediate aftermath of Katrina, journalists sought someone to blame. They, predictably, found President George Bush was the best scapegoat. But in lashing out, yet again, at their favorite source of all discontent, they missed a bigger target. If anyone “out there” is to be blamed, it is the large, remote, centralized federal government which has become a surrogate father to so many millions of Americans.

....

No, the threat of this system is that it strips a man of what makes him a man, and turns him away from his inner resources, or the inclination to partner with neighbors to solve problems. It humiliates him, blinds him and ultimately cripples him.

....

Success stories are buried. Tragedy is blared from the housetops. It’s a self-reinforcing cycle that further deepens dependence upon the government, and further strips the dignity of the person.

....

The devastating impact of this mindset is the apparent withering of the individual spirit and of community cooperation which have been the hallmarks of this great nation.

Sorry, Gaddafi

Saddam has not been a prisoner of war for over 2 years. He was returned 'home' to the freely elected Iraqi government. And that elected government has tried and convicted him of mass murder.

Libya's Gaddafi says US, Britain must try Saddam

RIPOLI, Dec 29 (Reuters) - Saddam Hussein is a prisoner of war and must
be tried by Iraq's invaders, the United States and Britain, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said on Friday. "Saddam Hussein is a prisoner of war ... He's been overthrown by foreign invading forces, not by the Iraqi army or the Iraqi people," Gaddafi said. Iraqi officials said on Friday that Saddam may be hanged within hours, and the prime minister met U.S. officials to determine whether the execution could go ahead
before a week-long religious holiday.
"The countries that captured him should try him -- America or Britain -- because all Iraq is under occupation, including the judges and the lawyers," he told reporters in Tripoli.

Saddam's Last Desparate Chance

Via the AP

Hussein's lawyers filed documents Friday afternoon
asking for a stay of execution. The 21-page request was filed in U.S.
District Court in Washington before Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly.

Attorneys argued that because Hussein also faces a civil lawsuit in Washington, he has rights as a civil defendant that would be violated if he is executed. He has not received notice of those rights and the consequences that the lawsuit would have on his estate, his attorneys said.

"To protect those rights, defendant Saddam Hussein requests an order
of this court providing a stay of his execution until further notice of
this court," attorney Nicholas Gilman wrote.

One hopes the judge quotes Michelle Malkin and answers with "Boo Freak'n Who".

I will say it again: It will be a good thing for Iraq when Saddam swings.

UPDATE:

"Petitioner Hussein's application for immediate, temporary stay of execution is denied," U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly said after a hearing over the telephone with attorneys.

Things that Didn't Happen

Saddam to Swing before Year's End

According to many sources:
Saddam will die before 2006 ends.
Iraqi Prime Minister has signed the death warrant, and under Iraqi law there are no more appeals.

This may cause a brief surge of attacks. But in the long run, Saddam's death will be good for Iraq. It will allow all Iraqis to focus on the future.

UPDATE: Saddam has now died more times in a single day that Castro has in the past year.

the 4th verse

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation,
Blest with victory and peace, may the Heaven - rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, for our cause is just,
And this be our motto --"In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

2006 in Review: Islam in a Perpetual Rage

So much for being a religion of peace.
Islam is a Death Cult,
Islam worships death and destruction.

See Michelle for the details of the raging 2006.

See my review below.

No Visuals of Muhammad

Great, then Muslims should not depict their Prophet.
But that restriction does not apply to non-Muslims.

I wish the press was as senstive to other religions.
When you consider the tens of thousands killed in the name of the Prophet, since 9/12/2001.
When you consider that most of those killed were INNOCENT men, women, and CHILDREN.

And now, the cry is: Muslims must be allowed to CENSOR the GLOBAL press or WE WILL KILL.

Europe, it is time to wake up and face the fact that these Muslims want to control the world. They want to force ALL to pray 5 times a day, or die.
They will tolorate no dissent from their edicts...They are Taliban...
They must be stopped
