Today at the Gaza Strip Border.

An IDF soldier was killed
this morning and another was critically injured as palestinians
detonated an explosive device near an IDF Sufa jeep patrolling the area
near the Gaza Strip border, not far from the Kissufim crossing. When
other army vehicles, as well as an army helicopter arrived to rescue
the wounded, they also came under fire. Hamas and the Islamic Jihad
both claimed responsibility for the attack, with the latter even distributing candy.

Statement from the Israel ambassador:

Today’s terrorist attack on a religious seminary in
Jerusalem, in which eight young students were murdered in cold blood by
a Palestinian terrorist, is a terrible reminder of the indiscriminate
and brutal terrorism Israel faces every day.

The gunman, armed with an automatic assault rifle, heavy ammunition
and a bulletproof vest, infiltrated the crowded school library and
opened fire at students during religious study.

The reaction in the West Bank and Gaza, including celebrations and
praise for the killer, is the result of ongoing and intensive
incitement to violence against innocent Israeli civilians.

While continuing to pursue every opportunity for peace, Israel will
defend its citizens and take the necessary security measures to combat
terror. Be it rocket fire from Gaza or suicide attackers in Jerusalem,
Israel expects the international community to take a resolute and
determined stand against terror in all its forms.

To Do List for John McCain

This is what I think John McCain should do now that he has won the Republican nomination:

1) Campaign to promote his agenda. He should focus on his positives, and he should not engage in negative campaigning against the Democrats (that can wait till later).

2) Consult with the GOP leadership - to get their input who should be his Vice-President. Also, he should start getting their input on who should be in his Cabinet.

3) Spread his coattails - Campaign to help elect other Republicans to Washington.

4) Be a Senator - John McCain should be on Capital Hill as much as possible, and he should try to disrupt the Obama and Clinton Campaigns by forcing them to be on Capital Hill.

If Islam was a religion of peace, it would not be issuing threats;
If Moslems were a peaceful people, they would not be murdering innocent men, women, and children;
Someday, maybe, Moslems and Islam will mature into a respectable religion, but for now, they are nothing but a DEATH CULT, which worships SATAN (ALLAH).


This point is emphasized once again in an editorial entitled “Playing With Fire” from today’s Arab News. This time it’s the German Interior Minister whose knees are being figuratively broken:

The
statement by Germany’s Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble that
European newspapers should reprint the controversial Danish cartoons of
the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a show of support for press
freedom is astounding.

It is difficult to believe that a
supposedly responsible and politically astute politician could say
something so irresponsible and dangerous — and Schaeuble is supposedly
both. More to the point, Schaeuble knows perfectly well that there are
hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide to whom the cartoons are not
merely deeply offensive but an outrage. He also knows perfectly well
what happened when the cartoons were first published — the wave of
violent protest worldwide two years ago that resulted in dozens of
people killed in riots and Danish embassies destroyed. The decision by
Danish papers to reprint the most offensive of the cartoons has already
led to Egypt protesting to Denmark, Iranian MPs demanding action
against the country, mass demonstrations in Sudan and riots by outraged
Muslims in Denmark itself.

Schaeuble cannot, therefore, claim
that he did not realize the consequences of what he said or that he has
been naive. This is no mere mistake or case of insensitivity. He knows
the massive damage to Germany that can result from what he said —
boycotts of German products, mass protests across the world, German
diplomats in danger, embassies under attack — yet still he said it. He
is being deliberately provocative.

According to Danish newspaper Berlingske Tidende, the poster in question featured the Kaaba shrine with the text "Stupid stone". A poster with a Jewish man wearing a typical Jewish head covering had the inscription "Stupid skullcap".

BT quotes the Tiergarten press release as saying: Muslims in Europe must accept that they can't censure an exhibition in a gallery.

A Berlin gallery has temporarily closed an exhibition of satirical works by a group of Danish artists after six Muslim youths threatened violence unless one of the posters depicting the Kaaba shrine in Mecca was removed, it said on Thursday.

USS New York (LPD 21) Commissioning

The Navy will christen the newest San Antonio class amphibious
transport dock ship New York (LPD 21) at 10 a.m. CST on Saturday, March
1, 2008, during a ceremony at Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding facilities
in New Orleans, La.

The ship is named New York in honor of the state, the city and the
victims of Sept. 11, 2001. A unique characteristic of the ship is the
use of 7.5 tons of steel salvaged from the World Trade Center wreckage
that was incorporated into the construction process. The steel was
melted and formed to make the bow stem of the ship. Use of this steel
symbolizes the spirit and resiliency of the people of New York. The
official motto of New York is: "Never Forget."

"The intercept occurred. We're very confident that we hit the satellite," Cartwright said. "We also have a high degree of confidence that we got the tank."

I am posting this because the judge in this case has gone too far. A complete and permanent shutdown of the site because one party complains, the judge could have/should have ordered the blocking/removal of the documents from this party until a hearing could be held. This is wrong.

8th Night of Moslem rioting in Denmark

The 8th night of torchings took place in Denmark last night.
Several schools and hundreds of cars have been torched.
ITN reported:

A
total of 20 towns were hit by fires on Sunday night, with around 29
people arrested - most of them for arson or attempted arson.

In two cases the fires were so strong that blocks of flats had to be evacuated.

Bands
of young people have vandalised or set fire to hundreds of cars and a
number of schools in the past week, however the situation was said to
have been improving over the weekend.

Police said they could give no reason for the behaviour, but said unusually mild weather and the closure of schools for a winter break might have contributed.

Social
workers believe an alleged plot to kill a Danish cartoonist for his
drawing two years ago of the Prophet Mohammad may have fuelled the
riots. Fifteen Danish newspapers reprinted his drawing on Wednesday in
protest against the alleged murder plot.

Most Muslims consider depictions of the Prophet offensive.

Clinton is a cheater

Harold Ickes, a top adviser to Sen. Hillary Rodham
Clinton's campaign who voted for Democratic Party rules that stripped
Michigan and Florida of their delegates, now is arguing against the
very penalty he helped pass.

In a conference call Saturday, the longtime Democratic Party member
contended the DNC should reconsider its tough sanctions on the two
states, which held early contests in violation of party rules. He said
millions of voters in Michigan and Florida would be otherwise
disenfranchised -- before acknowledging moments later that he had favored the sanctions.

Last fall, Mr Ickes supported the tough penalties against states with early primaries,
then Senator Clinton forgot to withdraw her name from those state primaries,
Now Senator Clinton wants (needs) those delegates to win,

The Hillary Clinton campaign has served notice that it expects to
claim delegates theoretically garnered in primary votes in Michigan and
Florida even though the contests in both states were declared void by
the Democratic leadership long before they were held.

The highly controversial gambit reflects growing concern in the
Clinton camp that her rival for the nomination, Barack Obama, may be
pulling far enough ahead to be beyond her reach. Yesterday, David
Plouffe, Mr Obama’s campaign manager, said it had become “highly
unlikely” that Mrs Clinton could now prevail.

But reclaiming the “phantom” delegates from Michigan and Florida
could potentially tilt the race back in her favour. Last September,
both candidates pledged not to campaign in either state after they
defied party rules by leapfrogging their primary votes into January.

At least 11 cars were torched in various neighbourhoods of Copenhagen, and 10 others in the nearby town of Kokkedal.

On Thursday, 17 youths were arrested for rioting the previous night.

"We don't know why they're rioting. I think it's because they're bored. Some people say it's because of the cartoons but that's not my opinion," Olesen said.

He was referring to the reprinting of a controversial cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed in 17 Danish newspapers on Wednesday.

Protests have flared up again in several Muslim countries including Kuwait and Pakistan following the reprinting. The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas also condemned the publication...

Three people were arrested for planning the murder, including two Tunisians who have lived in Denmark for more than seven years and whom Denmark has decided to expel without a trial.
