The Officers' Club: The Rise and Fall of the Stoic
And we need to take the fight to Iran, and soon.
With or without, Old Europe.
The Islamists are demanding our submission to Islamic Law.
Will Old Europe wake up in time? Or will the useful idiots take ALL freedoms away from the Europeans.
Damn, we have twice repaid the French for their assistance in our independence, both times aiding and defending the nation we fought for our independence.
Is the USA going to defend freedom in Europe a third time?
Danes under threat
The BBC's Julian Isherwood in Copenhagen says the intelligence reports are of such a concern to the foreign ministry, they are taking no chances.'Imminent danger'
"Concrete information indicates than an extremist group wishes to actively seek out Danes in protest for the publication of the Prophet Muhammad cartoons," the ministry statement read, without naming the group.
President Carter ordered peacetime warrantless wiretaps
The wiretaps were later used to convict several persons of spying for Vietnam.
In 2006, President Carter complains that President Bush authorized warrantless wiretaps, during wartime.
The wiretaps have stopped acts of terrorism.
One good looking Danish Queen
They think this would insult the Danes, I would think the queen had a good laugh at the picture.
More evidence (maybe)
They are calling for any expert assistance on handwritting to review and comment.
gee, They want to fact-check and verify but they accuse.
Next, They came for Valentine's Day
Since, Islam doesn't do Valentines,
nobody is allowed to do Valentines.
But, in a religion which considers women as property,
men don't need to give Valentines,
they can rape their women whenever they wish.

Tolerance Muslim Style
Calvin and Hobbes and Muhammad
As my regular readers know, I've long been skeptical of the "Religion of Peace" moniker for Muslims — for at least 3,000 reasons right off the top of my head. I think the evidence is going my way this week.
The culture editor of a newspaper in Denmark suspected writers and cartoonists were engaging in self-censorship when it came to the Religion of Peace. It was subtle things, like a Danish comedian's statement, paraphrased by The New York Times, "that he had no problem urinating on the Bible but that he would not dare do the same to the Quran."In order to express their displeasure with the idea that Muslims are violent, thousands of Muslims around the world engaged in rioting, arson, mob savagery, flag-burning, murder and mayhem, among other peaceful acts of nonviolence.
Catholics aren't short on rules, but they couldn't care less if non-Catholics use birth control. Conservative Jews have no interest in forbidding other people from mixing meat and dairy. Protestants don't make a peep about other people eating food off one another's plates. (Just stay away from our plates — that's disgusting.)
Stories from the front
"Also on Christmas Day, a newly hired Iraqi interpreter pulled a gun on one of our soldiers who works with sensitive intelligence. The Iraqi spy made Specialist Steven Clark bring him to his work space so he could look at his computer work station. The interpreter briefly turned his back to Clark and our guy immediately pulled his 9mm pistol and emptied his magazine into the Iraqi. The interpreter also got six shots off, one of which hit the soldier in his left breast pocket, but a notebook and ID card stopped the bullet. When I talked to Clark he said, 'I thought I was going to die and couldn't believe it when the guy turned his back to me.' Interesting detail: this soldier has been awarded the Purple Heart FOUR times. He's another one who doesn't have to be here. Message to all the naysayers back home: If you think these kids aren't committed to this mission, and don't believe in what they are doing, guess again."
Iraq - We are winning.

The war on the press
WHEN WILL THE EUROPEANS WAKE UP
THE ISLAMIST WANT FULL SUBMISSION TO ISLAMIC LAW.
NOTHING LESS WILL DO.
I WILL NOT SUBMIT
I WILL OPPOSE ANY EFFORT TO HAVE
THE UNITED STATES SUBMIT.
Tony Snow re-publishes the 'Toons
Plus a link to fake cartoons that Danish imams used to inflame public opinion about the original cartoons. They never appeared in any Danish publication (Hat tip to Gateway Pundit).
Way to go Tony!
Toons of our Time
Yes, I can see why some people are offended by the Danish cartoons.
But, other people see those drawings as an accurate reflection of reality.
Freedom of Expression
Does not mean free of offense.
The claim of victimhood does not convey the right to censor others.
Respect for Religion
Egypt
US media used to have guts
There's an even better reason why every newspaper in the free world should print these cartoons on their front page: To do your part to defend free speech…for a change.
The American press ran every photo it could find from Abu Ghraib, knowing as it did that the reaction would hurt the war effort and put our soldiers at risk. The American media didn't hesitate to run with illegally leaked documents about ongoing surveillance of Al Qaeda suspects and their communications into the US, even though breaking that story has absolutely aided the terrorists who want to kill us.
I'm not saying that the press made the wrong decision in either case. But I am pointing out that, for the most part, the typical reporter has been riding in the "free press" wagon, not pushing it.
Well, guys, it's time to get out and push. The threat against free speech from real-life religious zealots has arrived. Filmmakers have been shot. Writers have been stabbed. Cartoonists are forced underground in fear for their lives. Now's your chance to affirm the power of the press and reject the threats of thuggery by printing just one of these cartoons on your front page, with a note explaining that you are supporting the principle, not the message.
Religious Differences
I am familar with a few religions: other major Christan sects, Mormons, Hindis, and Islam.
Only Islam threatens death to those who dare convert from Islam to another faith.
Why does Islam require the pain of death to keep the 'faithful'?
Only Islam demands others to accept and obey their religious laws.
Other faiths have difficulty in accepting and obeying the laws of society which conflict with their beliefs, but they 'render unto Ceasar, what is Ceasar's'.
Some sects (ie: Amish) disagree with society, so much so, that they retreat from society. But they still respect the laws of society, they simply withdraw from society. They don't insist that everybody stop using technology because they consider technology evil. They simply don't use the technology that goes against their beliefs.

The Cartoon Jihad
Made part of an over-all plan to impose Islamic Law on the world.
Sorry, I will not submit
Information Warfare
Cox & Forkum nails it again
In other words, let's not go "too far" and openly criticize those who would kill us for exercising our freedom to criticize Islam -- we'll only make it worse! Yeah, right. And let's make western woman wear burqas so they won't provoke rapists. This is not about "bashing Muslims" -- it's about highlighting why we're in a war. Zerbisias seems to have forgotten that thousands of us have already been murdered by Islamic fundamentalists. We're way past "further divisions."
Daniel Pipes has a must-read editorial on the subject: Cartoons and Islamic Imperialism.
The key issue at stake in the battle over the twelve Danish cartoons of the Muslim prophet Muhammad is this: Will the West stand up for its customs and mores, including freedom of speech, or will Muslims impose their way of life on the West? Ultimately, there is no compromise: Westerners will either retain their civilization, including the right to insult and blaspheme, or not.
Clerics finally speak
"Islam says it's all right to demonstrate but not to resort to violence. This must stop," senior cleric Mohammed Usman told The Associated Press. "We condemn the cartoons but this does not justify violence. These rioters are defaming the name of Islam."

Threat from unnamed person
Bud, you're going to find out very soon just how many white-hot blooded, cool-minded ARMED Americans are seething, searching for targets and are generaly happy to be drawing some of the fire away from our Little Older Brother. Many Americans are armed.
I DO mean Brother.
Many Americans are seething, searching for targets.
You won't draw fire away from 'Little Older Brother'.
You will only draw fire on to yourself.
I am Danish
They acted as one, to save thousands of Jews from the Germans.
Now, maybe, Prince Hamlet couldn't make a decision..but the other Danes can.
Civilized protest
Live Free or Die
It is easy to terrorise people. Just tell them that you will kill them and most people tend to shut up. Sometimes it does not work. This is the case with people who have made the motto of the great state of New Hampshire – " Live Free or die" – their own.
"Terrorism only works when people agree to live in fear," a Brussels Journal reader wrote to me last week. She is not entirely right. Terrorists have a fall-back strategy when dealing with brave people who value freedom above their own lives. The terrorists just threaten to kill others. Indeed, it is one thing for the morally upright to stand for their own principles and be prepared to die for them, but quite another to realize that others will have to die for them. Many heroic people are tender-hearted, but the terrorists are neither. The real martyr is prepared to die so that others may live free, but not to let others die so that he may live free.
forget the talk about Islam being a "religion of peace" and the arguments – also heard in our comments section – that Muslims would never attack Christians, never destroy churches, never burn bibles, never smash images of the Virgin Mary or of Jesus, because, they say, Jesus is also their prophet and they respect all religions.
Tensions Rise
Last week the row escalated after a number of European newspapers republished the pictures, saying they were defending freedom of expression.
Denmark says it holds Iran responsible after its Tehran embassy was attacked by hundreds of people protesting about cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.
Many Muslims are angry at the publishing of cartoons of Muhammad in a Danish paper.
Islamic tradition explicitly prohibits images of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad.
USA sends protest to Syria
McCormack said the United States strongly condemned acts of violence. He said Assistant Secretary of State David Welch called the Syrian ambassador over the weekend "to express our strong protest and condemnation" of the torching of the Danish embassy in Damascus on Saturday.
"Syria is a country where protests don't just occur spontaneously, certainly not of this sort, not without the knowledge and support of the government," McCormack said.
Why is it that 'Western' Govt's must calm the Muslims

Lying in Islam
An example of Islamic deception is that Muslim activists always quote the passages of the Quran from the early part of Mohammed’s ministry while living in Mecca. These texts are peaceful and exemplify tolerance towards those that are not followers of Islam. All the while, they are fully aware that most of these passages were abrogated (cancelled and replaced) by passages that came after he migrated to Medina. The replacement verses reflect prejudice, intolerance, and endorse violence upon unbelievers.h/t My Vast Right Conspiracy

No Muslim Outrage.....
boortz.com: Nealz Nuze Today's Nuze Here is an interesting view of the "outrage" in the Muslim communities around the world because of a few cartoons. A little perspectve on the issue if you please.
- Muslims fly commercial airliners into buildings in New York City. No Muslim outrage.
- Muslim officials block the exit where school girls are trying to escape a burning building because their faces were exposed. No Muslim outrage.
- Muslims cut off the heads of three teenaged girls on their way to school in Indonesia. A Christian school. No Muslim outrage.
- Muslims murder teachers trying to teach Muslim children in Iraq. No Muslim outrage.

- Let's go way back. Muslims kidnap and kill athletes at the Munich Summer Olympics. No Muslim outrage.
- Muslims fire rocket-propelled grenades into schools full of children in Israel. No Muslim outrage.
- Muslims murder more than 50 commuters in attacks on London subways and busses. Over 700 are injured. No Muslim outrage.
- Muslims massacre dozens of innocents at a Passover Seder. No Muslim outrage.
- Muslims murder innocent vacationers in Bali. No Muslim outrage.
- Muslim newspapers publish anti-Semitic cartoons. No Muslim outrage
- Muslims are involved, on one side or the other, in almost every one of the 125+ shooting wars around the world. No Muslim outrage.
- Muslims beat the charred bodies of Western civilians with their shoes, then hang them from a bridge. No Muslim outrage.
- Newspapers in Denmark and Norway publish cartoons depicting Mohammed. Muslims are outraged.

News from Denmark
Shamelessly borrowed from www.nicedoggie.net, no time to properly get permission.
We just received an email from our Imperial Mother overseas containing a Letter to the Editor printed in the Danish daily “Ekstrabladet”.
Sorry.
Sorry for giving you a home and assistance.
Sorry for giving you an education, free of charge.
Sorry for helping you economically.
Sorry for letting you exercise your religion freely in our Christian country.
Sorry for sending foreign aid to your home countries.
Sorry for not starting blood feuds over your murders of our countrymen.
Sorry for not wearing explosive belts and blowing ourselves up in public when our feelings are hurt.
Sorry for not following the requirements of your religion. But an apology for speaking up in our own nation according to our own laws? That, you’ll never have.
"well-planned spontaneity":
WHY?

This is really a disgrace. And it is a disgrace not least because of the obvious, howling double standard involved here. The really great sins are ignored. And this trivia is protested.

The danger of 'sensitivity'
That's the question the Danish newspaper was testing: the weakness of free societies in the face of intimidation by militant Islam.
One day, years from now, as archaeologists sift through the ruins of an ancient civilization for clues to its downfall, they'll marvel at how easy it all was. You don't need to fly jets into skyscrapers and kill thousands of people. As a matter of fact, that's a bad strategy, because even the wimpiest state will feel obliged to respond. But if you frame the issue in terms of multicultural "sensitivity," the wimp state will bend over backward to give you everything you want -- including, eventually, the keys to those skyscrapers. Thus, Jack Straw, the British foreign secretary, hailed the "sensitivity" of Fleet Street in not reprinting the offending cartoons.
"Marx, Communism, Totalitarianism; Muhammed, Islam, Terrorism
"Islam is the root cause of Islamic terrorism, just as Marxism was the root cause of international Communist aggression.
Islam is the root cause of Islamic authoritarianism in every single nation that has a Muslim majority, just as Marxism was the root cause of authoritarianism in every single nation that adopted the Communist system.
Muhammed is the man responsible for creating the ideology of conflict and tyranny that is Islam, every bit as much as Marx is the man responsible for creating the ideology of conflict and tyranny that is Communism.
To ask me to say anything less of Islam is to ask me to lie for the sake of political expediency or political correctness. I cannot, and will not, muzzle my criticisms of Muhammed simply because it may alienate some of our allies in the war on terror, nor will I be silent about Islam simply because it may offend.
We were able to win the Cold War without resorting to such nonsense. I hope and pray that we can win the war against radical Islam under those same terms."
Comments on Rusty's post:
"
As a former Muslim, I find your article absolutely spot-on. From its inception, Islam has been a political ideology that usurped the role of religion. There are no doubt Muslims in this country who have learned the value of western ideals and blended those with a sort of "kinder, gentler" Islam. But as well intentioned as they (and the rest of our country) may be, that is not going to change the ugly reality of the real Islam, I'm afraid

Liberal Left: "You cannot make a country responsible for a terrorist act committed by it's Citizens"
Muslims: "We can hold a whole country accountable for a Newpaper cartoon."
At least there is some degree of separation occurring.
