Voting: A Civic Duty

This November, we may not like the choices for President,
but we should still vote.
This November, we may not like the choices for Senator,
but we should still vote.
This November, we may not like the choices for Congress,
but we should still vote.
This November, we may not like the choices on the ballot,
but we should still vote.

We should vote for the candidate that most closely aligns with our views,
or vote against the candidate that we distrust the most.

We should vote and register our opinion on the local issues (taxes) that affect our community.

We may hate all the choices for President...
but we should still vote
and make a difference on the rest of the ballot.

Voting: A Civic Duty

UPDATE: The more I read about McCain, the more I distrust him.
The latest 2-4-08 polls (RealClearPolitics.com)
show a virtual tie between Romney and McCain,
plus they show Obama well ahead of Clinton.

Option 3 is now in play: Vote for Romney.

BUT, since the pollsters have been very wrong earlier this year in NH.

DO I

VOTE AGAINST MCCAIN
or
VOTE AGAINST CLINTON

VOTING AGAINST CLINTON is VERY IMPORTANT TO THE WELFARE OF THIS NATION,
but
MCCAIN is NEARLY AS EVIL AS CLINTON.

Hmmm

Original post below:

Voting is a Civic Duty, but do I vote FOR somebody or AGAINST somebody.
My Presidential voting record:
I voted for Reagan, Reagan, Bush, Bush, (did not vote), Bush, Bush.
But at this time, I am not for either McCain, Huckabee, or Romney.
But, I am against Clinton, more than I am against Obama.

McCain is a Liberal Republican, strong on defense, weak on immigration, and would likely appoint moderate justices.
Romney is a Moderate Republican, strong on defense, weak on social issues, and might appoint conservative justices.
Huckabee is a joke.
Obama is a Liberal Democrat, weak on social issues, would appoint activist liberal justices, and is clueless on foreign affairs.
Clinton is a Socialist, seeking power for her own glory, uncaring about all others, and has a bad temper.

So, next Tuesday, in Georgia's OPEN primary -- how do I vote?
Huckabee is currently leading McCain - 29%-24% with Romney a distant 3rd at 18%
that leaves 29% undecided!
Obama is leading Clinton - 43%-35%
that leaves 22% undecided!

two voting options:
vote in the Republican primary for Fred Thompson...
to send a message that true conservatives are needed.
or
vote in the Democrat primary for Obama...
to help stop Clinton and to help keep the Democrat catfight going strong.

I am leaning strongly for option 2: Vote against Clinton.

Support the Berkeley Marines

Here’s the address for the recruiting station:

United States Marine Corps Recruiting

64 Shattuck Square

Berkeley, CA 94704

Also a word of advice from CJ over at A Soldier’s Perspective:

Make sure you put someone on the envelope something like
“We Support You” so they realize it isn’t junk mail. Tell them not to
cave to idiotic policies and hold strong. These guys have taken beaches
and islands, I think they can handle Berkeley!! Please don’t call the
Station as these Marines are very busy and need their phone lines free
to find more patriotic Americans to become “the Few and the Proud”.
