over at Blackfive there is a post from a non-commissioned officer (NCO) in Iraq about the Rules Of Engagement (ROE).
This NCO (Sergent or Petty Officer) is not happy with the current ROE his unit operates under. The rules are restrictive, they are in place to prevent casualties to innocent civilians. The rules have been designed to balance the need to destroy those opposed to the freely elected Iraqi government without annoying the civilian population too much.
These restrictive set of rules do increase the risks to our troops.
