The Price of FREEDOM

I returned yesterday from paying my respects at Normandy.

Great photos.

When my father was stationed in France in the early 60s, we went to Normandy.

I remember how beautiful it was.

However that was less than 20 years after the invasion and I imagine that is it much nicer now.

When I was there, you could still see the rusted remains of landing craft in the water. The bunkers had filled up with mud, so they were not accessible.

The cemetery was there and I remember the rows and rows of white crosses. It was a moving experience.

Thanks for sharing the photos. They brought back some memories that had faded in my mind.
