Pope to visit USA in 2008

Pope to make first visit to U.S. in 2008

Pope
Benedict XVI will make his first visit to the U.S. as pontiff next
year, and plans to visit the White House, ground zero and speak at the
United Nations, officials announced Monday.

Question: Will Columbia University invited the Pope to speak?
The Pope is a head of state.
The Pope is outspoken.

So, Columbia University should issue an invitation.

But, the Pope opposes birth control, homosexuals,
and worst, the Pope is Christian.

So, I doubt if Columbia will invite the Pope.
That would be asking to listen to an opposing point of view,
and more importantly,
Columbia would have to ensure the safety of the Pope.
