“Support our Troops”

"Support our Troops"

So says the ubiquitous magnetic sticker on yet another non-descript vehicle on the road up ahead – but one wonders if the driver/occupant knows of a program that directly, materially supports our troops in a life-changing way? That program would be Valour-IT (Voice Activated Laptops for OUR Injured Troops).

The short story is Valour-IT, an IRS-certified non-profit, non-political, volunteer organization provides laptops with voice activated software to wounded Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen in military and (thanks to coordination with the Military Order of the Purple Heart) VA hospitals. These laptops enable severely injured servicemen and women to remain in contact with family and friends in spite of those injuries. Since the program began in late 2005, over 1500 laptops have been issued to these wounded heroes.

The story of this project's development is compelling and typically American. Then-CPT (now MAJ) Charles "Chuck" Ziegenfuss, son of the late SFC William Ziegenfuss, a seventeen-year Army and Vietnam Vet who succumbed to Agent Orange-related cancer, as deployed to Iraq in 2005 as commander of a tank company. He also was a "milblogger," keeping an online commentary of his experiences in combat as part of the military blogging community.

In June 2005 he was severely wounded by an IED, suffering grievous injuries to his hands. Having gained a large and loyal following via his blog, he wanted to return to writing during his recovery in Walter Reed, but found he was significantly hampered by his injuries. Upon learning of these difficulties via the blog (which his wife had kept up for him), one of his readers donated a laptop with voice-activated software to bypass the handicap of his wounded hands. Soon it became apparent to him and his readership that this was a capability that could, and should be made available to the many other similarly or worse injured heroes. Following contact with another milblogger who writes under the pseudonym FbL, and subsequent contact with the Soldiers' Angels service organization, Project Valour-IT was up and running.

As initially set up, libraries at Walter Reed and Bethesda were established using refurbished computers and Dragon Naturally Speaking software for issue to patients who requested them. It was soon apparent that the demand for these laptops was such that fundraising efforts would have to take place to even begin to put a dent in that demand.

One of the fundraisers created is an online competition between teams of bloggers, aligned by service, using auctions, information and other methods to generate interest and funds for the project. Running from Halloween to Veteran's Day, last year's online event raised over $230,000 dollars during that two-week period. This year's event, with teams Army, Marine, Navy/Coast Guard and Air Force, will run from 28 October through 13 November. The direct effect of these efforts — in combination with partnerships from corporate and public donors like Dell, Toshiba, the San Antonio Area foundation and Newman's Own Foundation; has led to new and more powerful laptops and software being issued to a larger population that now includes Balboa Naval Hospital, Brooke Army Medical Center, Madigan Regional Medical Center, Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, and Robert E. Bush Naval Hospital (29 Palms) (as well as the aforementioned VA hospitals and individual locations across the country).

That said, how can you help? Read the tributes from those who have benefited from this program. In Chuck's own words:

"I know how humbling it is, how humiliating it feels, and I know how much better I felt, how amazingly more functional I felt, after Soldiers' Angels provided me with a laptop." And when he started to use the voice-controlled Laptop? "It was the first time I'd felt whole since I woke up in Landstuhl."

Contribute during the upcoming 2007 fund drive via your preferred team – every single penny donated goes directly to the purchase and delivery of laptops; all overhead is funded from other sources. Spread the word – survey the websites located at the end of the article for more information about contributing time or funds. (See the contribution button over there to starboard…)

The need is great: over 22,000 service members have returned wounded from combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.  Imagine what a boost it would be to that young Marine, an Army officer who is a husband and father, or a Sailor in a burn unit with third degree burns on her hands to be able to reach out from their hospital beds and contact distant friends and families, and how much that can help in the recovery process.

So here is how you can directly, materially support our troops and help those most in need of it in the process – and it won't scratch your paint like a magnetic sticker can…

Mass Murders for Democrats

“We see Hillary and other candidates are competing on who
will withdraw from Iraq,” said Abu Jihad of Al Aqsa’s Nablus unit.
“This is a moment of glory for the revolutionary movements in the Arab
world…”

Al Aqsa’s Nasser Abu Aziz, considered it “very good” that there are
“voices like Hillary and others who are now attacking the Iraq
invasion.”

Islamic Jihad’s Abu Ayman felt “emboldened” by Clinton’s demands
that America retreat from Iraq. He said: “It is clear that it is the
resistance operations of the mujahideen that have brought about these
calls for withdrawal.”

“All Americans must vote Democrat,” insisted Jihad Jaara, an
exiled Al Aqsa agent who commanded 2002’s siege of Bethlehem’s Church
of the Nativity.

American Thinker

American Thinker:

by Michael O’Shea

Snipers aim for a soldier’s heart; congressional leaders aim for the
heart of why he serves: Honor, Country, Duty to both. But to
congressional leaders, there’s no honor in Iraq. There can’t be: it’s
immoral. Illegal. And it’s not even their country’s war: it’s Bush’s.

Telling parents their child died for George Bush is telling Christa McAuliffe’s folks she died for Ronald Reagan.

JFK committed the US to space, but it wasn’t his race — it was
America’s. Astronauts knew the risks, the myriad of things that could
go wrong, yet signed on, boosted by their countrymen as much as by
rockets. There’s no such lift for soldiers today; they’re stranded,
ignored unless exploited, gains unseen, achievements unheard. The Tomb
of the Unknowns isn’t only in Arlington.

It’s one thing for leaders to oppose a mission, another to undermine
it; one thing to make course corrections, another to sabotage the ship,
one thing to overhaul an engine, another to wreck it in flight. The
time to abort a mission is before it’s launched. Once launched, it’s
all hands on deck. But for congressional leaders, it’s every man for
himself.

It’s not rifles or smart bombs or Humvees or night vision that separate American troops from others: it’s Honor.

Walter Reed can give soldiers news limbs, but where do they get
honor lost? There was honor in firemen’s fight to save those in Twin
Towers, honor in Flight 93’s Todd Beamer struggling to save those on
the ground in D.C., honor at D-Day, honor in Desert Storm: but to
congressional leaders there is no honor in Iraq: only pity.

And potshots at America’s new ally.

Every problem in Iraq is being attacked in Iraq by Iraqis and Americans together, yet congressional leaders snipe.

Snipe that Iraqis wouldn’t choose democracy: they have.

Snipe that Iraqis wouldn’t approve a constitution: they have.

Snipe that Iraqis wouldn’t share oil revenues: they have.

Snipe that Iraqis wouldn’t reintegrate former Baathists: they have.

Snipe that Iraqis wouldn’t fire corrupt commanders: they have.

Snipe that Iraqis wouldn’t turn against Sadr: they have.

Snipe that Iraqis wouldn’t turn against Al Qaeda: they have.

Snipe that Iraqis wouldn’t welcome American troops: they have.

Snipe that Iraqis troops are cowards: they’re not.

Snipe that Iraqis politicians are bickering, partisan, and self-serving.

Yet congressional leaders bicker on, partisan on, self-serve on,
proclaiming all the while Iraqis will never be statesmen like them.

Statesmanship may be the stance, but hunting is the game, the bigger the game the better.

Summon a general shouldering 160,000 American lives — his own son
soon to be among them - to an ambush disguised as a hearing and to
blasts, disguised as “disbelief,” that he lies.

Demand the head of a general, this one Marine, Vietnam vet, 40 years
dedicated to his country, whose name itself — Pace — means “Peace” in
his father’s native Italy, telling him he can’t be trusted with the
future of America’s fighters because of his past with America’s
fighters, his own son included. To his peers he’s a man of integrity,
to congressional leaders he’s unfit.

No matter

that he pledged and lived a life of sacred honor,

fought, as Vice-Chairman and then Joint Chiefs Chairman, to assure that troops shall not have died in vain,

that more Marines — 5,521 — died from five weeks at Iwo Jim than all services have in four years in Iraq.

Congressional leaders demanded his head. Marines routed Al Qaeda in
Anbar: on Capitol Hill, they haven’t got a chance. Such are the ways of
leaders paying lip service to troops while kissing up to backers.

Who exploited Abu Ghraib more — Al Qaeda or congressional leaders?
How many leaders came to troops’ defense saying those few betrayed
their buddies and their commanders, their commander-in-chief included?

Wronging prisoners is a capital offense; wronging military leaders
is a Capitol pastime. Friendly fire in battle is deplorable; on Capitol
Hill, it’s routine. Collateral damage is despicable, collateral damage
to troops matters as much to congressional leaders as nursery tots did
to Timothy McVeigh.

Congressional leaders love to mesmerize, hypnotize, repeating again
and again that Iraq is a fiasco staged by Bush, waged by Bush,
controlled by Bush, unaltered by Bush, conducted by Bush.

Unanimous advice of the Joints Chiefs? Never mentioned. Unanimous
judgment of the world’s intelligence communities? Never heard.
Unanimous resolutions by the UN Security Council? Never happened.
Unanimous conclusion by the 9/11 Commission that a failed Iraq will be
the top breeding ground for attacks against Americans? Never mind.

Iraq isn’t a quagmire — it’s a crucible. Masks are burned off,
character stands bare, make-up is wiped off, what you’re made of shows
through.

Rob troops of honor, parents of belief, Iraqis of hope: and what’s
left? A world peopled by the two-faced. Abandon hope all who enter here.

And prepare to be lulled by their lullaby. Within their world
there’s no Heaven, no Hell below us, Above us only sky, no countries,
nothing to kill or die for, no religion too, no possessions, no need
for greed or hunger, all the people living for today, living life in
peace, sharing all the world, the world will live as one: just Imagine.
Thus it is sung, thus it is sold. What a wonderful world it would be.

But that world is not this world. That world has no snakes; this one
does. That world has no rapists, killers, thieves, child molesters;
this one does. And this world has terrorists. Only in an imaginary
world would they vanish

Only in their imaginary world would Saddam not have rearmed as
sanctions ended and as he pledged. Only in their imaginary world would
there be

no North Koreans arming Saddam with outlawed missiles,

no weapons experts snuck in past inspectors’ eyes,

no Iraqi experts ordered not to leave,

no millions siphoned from Oil for Food,

no UN officials bribed,

no “friends” kicking back,

no financing terrorist attacks on Israel,

no race with Iran to nuclear-arm,

no Libya nuclear-arming already,

no A.Q. Kahn exposed since there’d be no one to expose him,

no No-Fly zones since there’d be no sanctions,

no attacks on Kurds north and Shias south when Saddam was again free,

no mass graves, rapist rooms, wires electrocuting testicles,

no millions of barrels of oil gushing out, billions of bucks gushing back in,

no haven offered to Al Qaeda when Afghanistan was attacked but Iraq was not.

All they are saying is give peace a chance: Saddam had 17.

How different the world would be were today’s congressional leaders
in power in 1957. Three years earlier, Brown v. Board of Education;
three years later, Arkansas National Guardsmen blocking blacks from
enrolling in Little Rock Central High. Ike sends the 101st Airborne,
nationalizes Arkansas National Guard, Blacks integrate, Supreme Court
enforced.

But congressional leaders, content with Saddam like Orval Faubus was
with segregation, would have pled for the status quo, letting the
Supreme Court issue opinions — and the UN issue resolutions — but God
forbid they ever be enforced.

Like Ike, Washington and Lincoln faced challenges unsought yet
sought victory. Such times would cow today’s congressional leaders.
They not only seek defeat now, they’d tell the world how to defeat
America again: homemade bombs, Hollywood stars, and
heroic-to-themselves bloggers are all that’s required.

Blue Angel pilots soar due to crews on the ground and Americans
backing those crews in return. Soldiers succeed in combat because of
team support and Americans, in turn, supporting those teams. But that’s
history. Marcus Welby is passé, Jack Kevorkian is Chief of Staff, Rosie
the Riveter dims, Susan Sarandon shines.

Congressional leaders — Saddam’s defense team — proclaim they know
now what they didn’t know then and thus would have let Saddam go. In
their imaginary world with their imaginary friends Schroeder and
Chirac, they’d have contained him. No sweat, no threat.

Nor would there have been lessons learned from Iraq because there’d
have been no Iraq to learn lessons from. IEDs — kryptonite in Iraq —
wouldn’t have exploded nor would suicide bombers. There’d be no
protesters: no soldier deaths to protest.

Congressional leaders would flood Afghanistan with troops and be
welcomed as liberators, no formerly anti-Soviet turned anti-American
jihadists among them. Poppies would disappear, democracy would pop up
in a civilization, like Iraq, thousands of years old. Bin Laden would
be seized or, should he flee to Pakistan, tribal Pakistanis - with no
Iraq invasion to goad them to ally with the US - would embrace American
troops and rally to rout Al Qaeda.

We’ve seen this play — and this ploy — before. Washing their hands
of a war whose unpopularity they helped create, concocting Pilate
programs so they didn’t get nailed, they ask not, What is truth?, but
What is Honor?

Such is the imaginary world of imaginary leaders — pretenders to the throne, pretenders to the noble, pretenders to good.

Little boys love toy soldiers; little leaders love toying with
soldiers, toying with honor, playing heart games, mind games, while
affirming they can touch hearts, touch minds of Muslims around the
world.

Contrast congressional leaders’ world with the one war fighters see:

a man who had weapons before and swore he’d have them again — and use them again — is gone;

a people terrorized for decades are free from him but not from Al
Qaeda, not from neighbors, not from other terrorists in their midst.

There’s honor in helping them, or should be. There’s an ally gained
from helping them through their stumbles and struggles, or can be.
There’s security for America as Iraq’s enemies who are America’s
enemies are annihilated. But sacrifice and selflessness are not
congressional leaders’ style.

Theirs is a world of one-liners and put-downs, cartoonists and
comedians, in-crowds and the trendy and the fashionable and zingers,
sermons about imposing democracy while foisting civil war, rants about
Halliburton while the real war profiteer, Michael Moore, waddles away.
In their world Cindy Sheehan marches into combat; in a soldier’s world,
medics would get her help. Billed as a world peaceful and loving,
beneath the mask it’s a world of bullies and cut-throats, soothing on
the outside, savage within.

A soldier’s world is one of straight-shooters, in more ways than
one. Asked if more troops will likely die in Iraq, David Petraeus
answered, Yes. Asked if billions more will be spent, David Petraeus,
answered, Yes. Asked if Iraq was worth it, David Petraeus answered,

Sir, I wouldn’t be here, and I wouldn’t have made the recommendations
that I have made if I did not believe that…this is about continuing to
commit yourself to something that is bigger than self.

No wonder congressional leaders have lost faith; faith in themselves is
the only faith they’ve ever had. Soldiers have faith in something, and
someone, bigger.

Iraq is about faith: faith that our troops know what they’re
fighting for, faith that their commanders do everything they can to see
them through and see them live; faith that Iraqis want to live free;
faith that their prime minister is risking his life — like the
slaughtered sheik leading Anbar against Al Qaeda — for his country and
not for spoils; faith that all men are endowed by their Creator with
inalienable rights; faith that American civilian leaders do their best
with the light they have for one nation under God.

There are honorable Democrats in Congress. The majority of House and Senate leaders are not among them

Nor is a senator, strengthened by sips from Lake Superior, scolding
General Abizaid that hope is not a method. To which he replied, Despair
is not a method.

Despair: literally meaning? “Hopeless.”

The only thing hopeless about Iraq is congressional leaders.

Europe is Burning

Europe’s no-go zones or SUAs (“sensitive urban areas”) are multiplying. These are areas where the police no longer dares to venture and where Islamists hold sway.

Every
night since the beginning of last week, immigrant youths have been
torching cars and clashing with police in Amsterdam’s Slotervaart
district.

The incidents started on Oct. 14 when a
policewoman shot dead Bilal Bajaka, a 22-year old ethnic Moroccan,
whilst he was stabbing her and a colleague with a knife.

The officers were stabbed in the breast, face, neck and back. Surgeons could only narrowly save their lives.

Since the incident, Slotervaart has seen rioting almost every night.

The Amsterdam Moroccans are “shocked” because one of them has been killed by an infidel woman.

According to his family, Bilal Bajaka was mentally deranged and had a suicide obsession. Ahmed Marcouch, the Moroccan-born Socialist mayor of Slotervaart, criticized the Dutch authorities for failing to provide adequate health care for Bajaka’s mental problems.

Bilal Bajaka was, however, a personal friend of Mohammed
Bouyeri, the Jihadist who ritually slaughtered the Dutch film maker
Theo van Gogh in 2004.

Bilal’s attack on the two
police officers came exactly two years after the arrest of his brother,
Abdullah Bajaka, the leader of an alleged plot to blow up an El-Al
Boeing at Amsterdam airport.

Bilal’s family background is not at all deprived.

I'll say it again:
Islam is a Death Cult
Allah is Satan, Mohammed(Pigs Be Upon Him) is His Prophet.
Islam is the Worship of Death.

Hillary's NEGATIVE 50%

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Hillary Clinton may be the Democratic Party's
2008 presidential front-runner but she also tops the list when voters
are asked for whom they would never, ever cast a ballot, a poll out
Monday found.

Fully 50 percent of US voters say that when it
comes to Clinton, she can campaign all she likes but there is no way in
the world she can win their support, with her negative rating up
slightly from 46 percent in March, the Zogby poll said.

Older
voters were the most hostile to the attorney and former first
lady-turned US senator, who is seeking to become the first woman US
president. Fifty-nine percent of those over 65 said they would never
vote for Clinton, according to the survey which ranked leading
Democratic and Republican hopefuls.

Liberals support Terror, Abuse of Women

Charles at LGF has
a roundup of the increasingly shrill and hysterical reactions to
Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week from campus Leftists at Columbia,
Indiana, Minnesota, Penn State, Washington State, and Wisconsin.

So the campus Left is placing itself
squarely on the side of those who want to implement the
institutionalized oppression of women and religious minorities
sanctioned by Islamic Sharia law,
who deny the freedom of conscience, and want to impose upon the world a supremacist and totalitarian code.

There is no Free Speech on campus

All campus speech must be approved as politically correct, ie: must be liberal.

George Washington University.

Young Americans for Freedom are holding Islamofacists awareness events.
Some liberal students post disgusting flyers and the YAF is accused of posting them.
The university president was going to take direct action against the students who posted the flyers until he learned it was some liberal students who posted the disgusting flyers, then he allowed the student government to handle the punishment.

Columbia University

Conservative speakers are run off the stage by 'brownshirt' liberal students - (Minuteman founder 2006) - Very little if any action was taken against these thugs who assaulted the conservative speaker.

There is No Free Speech on Campus.
There is No Debate Allowed.

Republican debate

The reviews are in.

The reviewers only agree on two points.

1) Republicans talk about issues and real solutions to the issues, with one exception - the party jester, Ron Paul.

2) Ron Paul is a joke.

Fred, Rudy, Mitt, John - All did well. All 'looked' and 'sounded' presidential.

Fred still has my vote.

Next Republican debate should only have Fred, Rudy, Mitt, and John.

Electoral College

The Electoral College is a time tested way of electing the President of the United States.

It is designed to ensure that no region is ignored by the candidates.

Yes, the most popular candidate can and has lost the election.

A candidate that focuses solely on the urban areas of the nation can 'win' the popular vote while ignoring the other areas of this nation. While the other candidate, who focuses on the whole nation wins the election.

The only change I would suggest to this system is to award electoral votes by congressional district plus 2 for the statewide winner, the District of Columbia would be reduced to a single electoral vote.

Red State: Blue State

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul,
Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000
Presidential election:

Number of States won by:

Gore: 21
Bush: 29

Square miles of land won by:
Gore: 580,000
Bush: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by:
Gore: 127 million
Bush: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Gore: 13.2
Bush: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate , the map of the territory Bush
won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great
country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in
government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government
welfare..

A Letter to the British, from a Brit

via Gates of Viena

A Letter to my People

“The time has come”,
the Walrus said, “to talk of many thing.” So, with apologies to Lewis
Carroll and to the Bard, I ask, “Friends, Britons, countrymen, lend me
your ears and consider this: You are under attack; your enemies are
both within and without and their malignant intent is to take either
your mind or your life.”

Then I ask you to look around your
homeland and decide for yourself whether the statement above is true or
false. If it is false, or if this is the future you want, or are
prepared to tolerate, do nothing.

But if there are those of you
who see the truth of it, and choose to remain free men and women, then
you must stand up and be counted, for time is running out. Perhaps, if
enough of us do, we may find that we are not as few as our voices in
the wilderness would make it appear, but that our lack of cohesion, of
organisation, of mutual support merely substantiates the old axiom
‘divide and conquer’.

We must somehow join together in
resistance, become one demographic, one voice, then raise that voice in
furious harmony and make it heard across these Islands until its
resonance shatters the tidal wave of atavism that engulfs us. If we do
nothing, then atrocity will reign, our grandsons will only be able to
count to seventy-two and they will be doomed to bang their heads on the
floor in mindless obeisance to an alien deity as they await their
transition to a non-existent eternity of debauchery.

.......

We must become ‘The Non-Muslim Council of Britain’ - or cease to exist at all.

So,
tonight, when you kiss your children and put them to bed, then go
downstairs and await all of your tomorrows you must understand that you
still have a choice. You can do nothing or you can decide to act,
hopefully to act now with a unity of purpose beyond Political Party,
Class or Gender, for the sake of those upstairs.

I beg you, in
the name of freedom, our freedom, to dig deep, Britain, and to think
hard; Philippi or Armageddon? Philippi will not be easy, nor will it
come about without sacrifice and commitment, but it is survivable.
Islam is not.

Sincerely,
Seneca III

It should be called the “AllBull Piece (of Sh*t) Prize.

Democrats are Facists

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Henry Waxman is using his staff, using our tax dollars, to illegally aid his fellow Democrats and himself on the campaign trail:

Rep. Henry Waxman has asked his investigative staff to begin compiling
reports on Limbaugh, and fellow radio hosts Sean Hannity and Mark Levin
based on transcripts from their shows, and to call in Federal
Communications Commission chairman Kevin Martin to discuss the
so-called "Fairness Doctrine."

"Limbaugh isn't the only one who needs to be made uncomfortable
about what he says on the radio," says a House leadership source. "We
don't have as big a megaphone as these guys, but this all
political, and we'll do what we can to gain the advantage. If we can
take them off their game for a while, it will help our folks out there
on the campaign trail.
"
Rep Waxman wants to control all broadcasting -
He doesn't give a damn about the Constitution.
He doesn't give a damn about our rights to Free Speech,
especially about our right to Free Political Speech.

Rep Waxman and his fellow Democrats want CONTROL - ABSOLUTE CONTROL.

Therefore they OPPOSE
Free Speech

Therefore they SUPPORT
Gun Control

Because they want a silent defenseless population to TAX into POVERTY.

Hillary Clinton founded Media Matters.
So, Media Matters could attack and silence conservative voices.

VOTE REPUBLICAN if you want FREEDOM.

Thanks Bill

from SteelJawScribe

Also of note, this launch was the
60th straight successful launch of the Long March series since several
failures in the 1995-96 timeframe. Notably, that improvement came on
the heels of information and technology transfer supplied by US
companies in the wake of the loss of their commercial sateliites in
those launches.

Did Chinese campaign contributions help speed this transfer of technology?

France is still burning

The French 'youth' are rioting and burning cars - again. But the French government will not take strong action to protect its honest citizens from the barbarians.

French interior minister Michèle Alliot-Marie immediately exonerated
the young savages who reduced into ashes everything that surrounded
them in Saint-Dizier, Eastern France last Thursday. She said:
“Responsibility
is not one person’s matter. Responsibility is a chain that involves
everybody: education, municipalities, associations, the police, firemen
and justice.”

With the attitude - that the individual is not responsible for their actions - France will never stop burning.

These out of control 'youths' (Muslims) need a severe beatdown, respect for the laws of France needs to be impressed upon them.

But it will not happen.

THE SITUATION IN BURMA AND WHY IT MATTERS TO ALL OF US

There is no press freedom in Burma and the government has started turning off the Internet and other means of communication, so it is difficult to get news out. Individuals on the ground have been sending their day-by-day reports to the BBC, and they are heartbreaking. I encourage you to read these accounts to see for yourself what is really going on in Burma. Please include this link in your own blog post.

The situation in Burma is increasingly dangerous. Hundreds of thousands of unarmed peaceful protesters, including monks and nuns, are risking their lives to march for democracy against an unpopular but well-armed military dictatorship that will stop at nothing to continue its repressive rule. While the generals in power and their families are literally dripping in gold and diamonds, the people of Burma are impoverished, deprived of basic human rights, cut off from the rest of the world, and increasingly under threat of violence.

This week the people of Burma have risen up collectively in the largest public demonstrations against the ruling Junta in decades. It’s an amazing show of bravery, decency, and democracy in action. But although these protests are peaceful, the military rulers are starting to crack down with violence. Already there have been at least several reported deaths, and hundreds of critical injuries from soldiers beating unarmed civilians to the point of death.

The actual fatalities and injuries are probably far worse, but the only news we have is coming from individuals who are sneaking reports past the authorities. Unfortunately it looks like a large-scale blood-bath may ensue — and the victims will be mostly women, children, the elderly and unarmed monks and nuns.

Contrary to what the Burmese, Chinese and Russian governments have stated, this is not merely a local internal political issue, it is an issue of global importance and it affects the global community. As concerned citizens, we cannot allow any government anywhere in the world to use its military to attack and kill peacefully demonstrating, unarmed citizens.

In this modern day and age violence against unarmed civilians is unacceptable and if it is allowed to happen, without serious consequences for the perpetrators, it creates a precedent for it to happen again somewhere else. If we want a more peaceful world, it is up to each of us to make a personal stand on these fundamental issues whenever they arise.

Please join me in calling on the Burmese government to negotiate peacefully with its citizens, and on China to intervene to prevent further violence. And please help to raise awareness of the developing situation in Burma so that hopefully we can avert a large-scale human disaster there.

May Pigs Piss on Muhammad

The issues here go beyond the right of cartoonists to offend people. They go to the heart of repression in much of the Muslim world. Islamists and authoritarian governments now routinely use accusations of blasphemy to repress writers, journalists, political dissidents and, perhaps politically most important, religious reformers.

On Sept. 22, three political dissidents in Iran, Ehsan Mansouri, Majid Tavakoli and Ahmad Ghassaban, were put on trial for writing articles against “Islamic holy values.” Iran’s most prominent dissident, Akbar Ganji, was himself imprisoned on charges including “spreading propaganda against the Islamic system.” In August, Taslima Nasreen, who had to flee Bangladesh for her life because her feminist writings were accused of being “against Islam,” was investigated in India for hurting Muslims’ “religious sentiments.”

The Code

I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom,
responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my
country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

Proud Aussie

I love it! Are you proud to be an Aussie?

From Australian Flag:

We need to be proud of our country and let
everybody know that “we love Australia”

An incident occurred in a supermarket recently, when the following was witnessed:

A Muslim woman dressed in a Burkha (A black gown & face mask) was
standing with her shopping in a queue at the checkout.

When it was her turn to be served, and as she reached the cashier, she
made a loud remark about the Australian Flag lapel pin, which the female
cashier was wearing on her blouse.

The cashier reached up and touched the pin and said, “Yes, I always wear
it proudly. My son serves abroad with the forces and I wear it for him”.

The Muslim woman then asked the cashier when she was going to stop
bombing and killing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.

At that point, a Gentleman standing in the queue stepped forward, and
interrupted with a calm and gentle voice, and said to the Iraqi woman:

“Excuse me, but hundreds of thousands of men and women, just like this
ladies son have fought and sacrificed their lives so that people just
like YOU can stand here, in Australia, which is MY country and allow you to
blatantly accuse an innocent check- out cashier of bombing YOUR
countrymen”.

“It is my belief that if you were allowed to be as outspoken as that in
Iraq which you claim to be YOUR country, then we wouldn’t need to be
fighting there today”.

“However - now that you have learned how to speak out and criticise the
Australian people who have afforded you the protection of MY country,
I will gladly pay the cost of a ticket to help you pay your way back to
Iraq”.

“When you get there, and if you manage to survive for being as outspoken
as you are here in Australia, then you should be able to help straighten
out the mess which YOUR Iraqi countrymen have got you into in the first
place, which appears to be the reason that you have come to MY country to
avoid.”

Apparently the queue cheered and applauded.
IF YOU AGREE.. Pass this on to all of your proud Aussie friends..

*!*!*!*!*!*!*

I am an American, and Proud of it.

But I would gladly stand and defend the FREE PEOPLE OF AUSTRALIA.

Who helps African-Americans?

Democrats
with handouts (Welfare, Food Stamps, etc.) that lead to dependency on the government.
who preach, blame others for your misfortune.

or

Republicans
whose party was formed to end slavery.

Republicans also have supported legislation favorable to blacks, often against intense Democratic headwinds:

In
1865, Congressional Republicans unanimously backed the 13th Amendment,
which made slavery unconstitutional. Among Democrats, 63 percent of
senators and 78 percent of House members voted: "No."

In 1866,
94 percent of GOP senators and 96 percent of GOP House members approved
the 14th Amendment, guaranteeing all Americans equal protection of the
law. Every congressional Democrat voted: "No."

February 28, 1871: The GOP Congress passed the Enforcement Act, giving black voters federal protection.

February 8, 1894: Democratic President Grover Cleveland and a
Democratic Congress repealed the GOP's Enforcement Act, denying black
voters federal protection.

January 26, 1922: The U.S. House
adopted Rep. Leonidas Dyer's (R., Mo.) bill making lynching a federal
crime. Filibustering Senate Democrats killed the measure.

May
17, 1954: As chief justice, former three-term governor Earl Warren (R.,
Calif.) led the U.S. Supreme Court's desegregation of government
schools via the landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision. GOP
President Dwight Eisenhower's Justice Department argued for Topeka,
Kansas's black school children. Democrat John W. Davis, who lost a
presidential bid to incumbent Republican Calvin Coolidge in 1924,
defended "separate but equal" classrooms.

September 24, 1957:
Eisenhower deployed the 82nd Airborne Division to desegregate Little
Rock's government schools over the strenuous resistance of Governor
Orval Faubus (D., Ark.).

May 6, 1960: Eisenhower signs the
GOP's 1960 Civil Rights Act after it survived a five-day, five-hour
filibuster by 18 Senate Democrats.

July 2, 1964: Democratic
President Johnson signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act after former
Klansman Robert Byrd's 14-hour filibuster and the votes of 22 other
Senate Democrats (including Tennessee's Al Gore, Sr.) failed to scuttle
the measure. Illinois Republican Everett Dirksen rallied 26 GOP
senators and 44 Democrats to invoke cloture and allow the bill's
passage. According to John Fonte in the January 9, 2003, National
Review, 82 percent of Republicans so voted, versus only 66 percent of
Democrats.

True, Senator Barry Goldwater (R., Ariz.) opposed
this bill the very year he became the GOP's presidential
standard-bearer. However, Goldwater supported the 1957 and 1960 Civil
Rights Acts and called for integrating Arizona's National Guard two
years before Truman desegregated the military. Goldwater feared the
1964 Act would limit freedom of association in the private sector, a
controversial but principled libertarian objection rooted in the First
Amendment rather than racial hatred.

June 29, 1982: President Ronald Reagan signed a 25-year extension of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

The Republican party also is the home of numerous "firsts." Among them:

Until 1935, every black federal legislator was Republican. America's
first black U.S. Representative, South Carolina's Joseph Rainey, and
our first black senator, Mississippi's Hiram Revels, both reached
Capitol Hill in 1870. On December 9, 1872, Louisiana Republican
Pinckney Benton Stewart "P.B.S." Pinchback became America's first black
governor.

August 8, 1878: GOP supply-siders may hate to admit
it, but America's first black Collector of Internal Revenue was former
U.S. Rep. James Rapier (R., Ala.).

October 16, 1901: GOP
President Theodore Roosevelt invited to the White House as its first
black dinner guest Republican educator Booker T. Washington. The
pro-Democrat Richmond Times newspaper warned that consequently, "White
women may receive attentions from Negro men." As Toni Marshall wrote in
the November 9, 1995, Washington Times, when Roosevelt sought
reelection in 1904, Democrats produced a button that showed their
presidential nominee, Alton Parker, beside a white couple while
Roosevelt posed with a white bride and black groom. The button read:
"The Choice Is Yours."

GOP presidents Gerald Ford in 1975 and
Ronald Reagan in 1982 promoted Daniel James and Roscoe Robinson to
become, respectively, the Air Force's and Army's first black four-star
generals.

November 2, 1983: President Reagan established Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday as a national holiday, the first such
honor for a black American.

President Reagan named Colin Powell
America's first black national-security adviser while GOP President
George W. Bush appointed him our first black secretary of state.

President G.W. Bush named Condoleezza Rice America's first black female
NSC chief, then our second (consecutive) black secretary of State. Just
last month, one-time Klansman Robert Byrd and other Senate Democrats
stalled Rice's confirmation for a week. Amid unanimous GOP support, 12
Democrats and Vermont Independent James Jeffords opposed Rice — the
most "No" votes for a State designee since 14 senators frowned on Henry
Clay in 1825.

"The first Republican I knew was my father, and he
is still the Republican I most admire," Rice has said. "He joined our
party because the Democrats in Jim Crow Alabama of 1952 would not
register him to vote. The Republicans did. My father has never
forgotten that day, and neither have I."

Quote

We are
the hope of the Iraqi people. They want what everyone else wants in life:
safety, security, somewhere to call home. They want a country that is safe
to raise their children in. Not a place where their children will be
abducted, raped and murdered if they do not comply with the terrorists
demands. They want to live on, rebuild and prosper. And America has given
them the opportunity, but only if we stay true to the cause and see it to
its end. But the country must unite in this endeavor...we cannot place the
burden on our military alone. We must all stand up and fight, whether in
uniform or not. And supporting us is more than sticking yellow ribbon
stickers on your cars. It's supporting our President, our troops and our
cause.

Right
now, the burden is all on the American soldiers. Right now, hope rides
alone. But it can change, it must change. Because there is only failure and
darkness ahead for us as a country, as a people, if it doesn't.

Let's
stop all the political nonsense, let's stop all the bickering, let's stop
all the bad news and let's stand and fight!

Isn't that what America
is about anyway?

Respect is Earned

comment by a Columbia University Student
Gazelle Javantash, 27, a graduate student at SIPA who was born in Iran,
but grew up in California, said she believed that Mr. Ahmadinejad “felt
attacked.” She said, “He talked about feeling disrespected. Respect is
a huge thing in Persian culture. They could have gotten more out of him
if they showed more respect in the beginning.”

If the Persians want respect, they need to show respect -
Persians needs to respect life, all human life - they do not.

Mr Ahmadinejad wants to wipe Israel off the map, he wants to commit genocide against the Jews.. He deserves no respect.

Iran supplies money, weapons and training to terrorists, terrorists who kill innocent men, women and children. Terrorists in Iraq, Lebanon, Gaza. Terrorists who don't care who they kill.

Now for something completely different

I am going to re-post an entry from Daily Kos.

Because I think it will be purged pretty quickly.

re And Feeding Instructions

Congratulations
on your purchase of your new 110th Congress! These care and feeding
instructions will help ensure many years of future enjoyment of your
Congress: please read them carefully.

CONTENTS

As packaged, your new Congress contains:

  • 1 Capitol (white)
  • 435 live Representatives (also mostly white)
  • 100 live Senators (mostly blazingly, translucently white)
  • Congress Chow, in the form of hundreds of billions of dollars in cash
  • A variety of checks and balances. You may set these aside: they don't actually do anything.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Soon after installing your new Congress, a green, cash-rich buildup may
occur. This buildup is a normal part of the ecological balance in your
Congress; the murky green colors will fade slightly as the ratio of
legislators to beneficial lobbyists finds a natural balance.

  1. Do not expose your Congress to direct sunlight, as this may cause
excessive "loss" of Senators and Representatives. In order to best
ensure the health of your Congress, keep it in a dimly lit place,
preferably near a variety of restaurants.
  1. If your
Congress begins looking drab, place an American flag behind the tank.
This will stimulate your Congressmen into a variety of unusual
displays. When the effect fades, add more flags.
  1. Do
not taunt your Congress. Their feelings are easily hurt, and may result
in uncontrollable, deafening wailing. If this happens, add additional
    flags.
  1. A certain amount of sexual perversion is
normal. If your household includes children, place your Congress in a
location where children will not have direct access to it. Positioning
your Congress away from telephone and other communications equipment
will help prevent a buildup of prostitutes.
  1. As
normal behavior, your Senators and Representatives will travel in
schools. You may notice portions of your Congress from time to time
erupt in panic over an unseen enemy, usually hippies or communists.
This is normal, and will usually resolve itself through a series of
    sternly worded but ineffectual bills.
  1. Your Congress
is a carefully organized hierarchical society. Watch them work together
to build highways, bridges, and overfunded vanity projects. Do not,
however, expect them to show interest in you or acknowledge your
presence in any way. If that's what you wanted, you should have bought
    a dog.
  1. Under optimal conditions, your Congress may
develop one or two Presidential Candidates. The bright colors and
dramatic displays of these creatures can provide hours of
entertainment. While Presidential Candidates may add excitement to your
Congress, note that they are territorial and prone to fighting: keep
Candidates separate as much as possible. Also, be aware that
Presidential Candidates require ten times the amount of nutrition of
    other legislators, so feed regularly.
  1. Clean your
Congress every two years to remove buildup and prevent disease. Wipe
your Congress with a disinfecting solution made up of cursory debate,
weakly contested primaries, and embarrassingly shallow campaign
coverage. It won't make the slightest bit of difference, but what the
hell -- it will give you something to do.

All sales final. No refunds. May exchange for identically dysfunctional Congress only.

TIP: Providing Material Support for Terrorism

Inviting the President of Iran to speak at Columbia University....

Provides support for his regime in Iran....

Iran funds and trains terrorists in Lebanon, Gaza, Iraq....

So isn't Columbia University breaking Federal Law by supporting Iran?

The FBI should arrest the President of Columbia University for providing support for terrorism,

and the Federal Government should stop providing federal funds to Columbia University.

The Pope comes out swinging against Islam

Benedict XVI attacked Muslim nations where Christians are either
persecuted or given the status of second-class citizens under the
Shariah Islamic law.

He also defended the rights of Muslims to convert to Christianity,
an act which warrants the death penalty in many Islamic countries.

His comments came almost exactly a year after he provoked a wave of
anger among Muslims by quoting a Byzantine emperor who linked Islam to
violence.

Yesterday, near Rome, the 80-year-old pontiff made a speech in
"defence of religious liberty", which, he said "is a fundamental,
irrepressible, inalienable and inviolable right".

In a clear reference to Islam, he said: "The exercise of this
freedom also includes the right to change religion, which should be
guaranteed not only legally, but also in daily practice."

I hope that this year the Pope does not back down.

Last year, the Pope attempt to appease the Muslims, and learned that appeasement never works.

Islam is a religion of slaves - yes, slaves - once you are declared a Muslim you must remain a Muslim under pain of death.

If your father is Muslim, you are Muslim.
Therefore in the eyes of Islam - Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim Apostate, and he must return to Islam or die.

If your mother is Jewish, you are Jewish. But a Jew can convert to another religion, recently the ArchBishop of Paris died, he was Jewish, because his parents, who died in the Holocaust, were Jewish.

New Yorkers need to block the streets on Monday

New Yorkers need to block the streets on Monday.
To deny the President of Iran access to the WTC site and to Columbia University.

New Yorkers need to simply stand/sit in the street and to create gridlock around those locations.
At 9 am - near the WTC site..create gridlock for 5-6 blocks in all directions.
then later near Columbia University.

A simple peaceful protest of Iran's support for terrorism.
A simple peaceful protest of Iran's call to wipe Israel off the map - this is a call for genocide.
A simple peaceful protest of Iran's treatment of homosexuals -  they hang them.

A simple peaceful protest for global human rights.

New Yorkers need to block the streets on Monday.
To deny the President of Iran access to the WTC site and to Columbia University.

Since our government lacks the spine to restrict the President of Iran to the United Nations.
As host of the United Nations, we agreed to allow world leaders to conduct UN business, we do not have to allow them to do anything else on our soil.

I Want my Country Back

re is Rick Robert’s “I want my country back” rant. Rick has given
exclusive permission to to post it on every blog you read, and e-mail
it to every friend you have.

_________________________

“I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK!”

I don’t mean to go off on a rant here, but here’s the bottom line, I want my country back.

I want my kids to be able to walk to the store or walk to school
without being abducted by some 3-time convicted child molester. And the
politically correct powers that be in this country just can’t seem to
get over themselves with “CAN’T WE JUST HELP THIS PERSON!” No! You
can’t. But they’re let loose to prey on more children.

I want my kids back. I want my country back.

I don’t agree with everything this President does. I’ve never agreed with anything 100% that any President has done or said.

You know, I was very young during the Vietnam War. So I probably
missed that thing by a hair. I don’t know whether I would have agreed
with that or not at the time. I was too stupid to have an opinion at
that point and time even though I thought I did.

I want my country back.

I want some semblance of respect for authority, whether I agree with it all or not.

I want the Boy Scouts to be “boy” scouts, not boy and “we think
she’s a girl” scouts. I want Girl Scouts to be “girl” scouts not Girl
Scouts and “Bruce.”

I want my country back.

I want to be able to wake up in the morning knowing that I can walk outside without some gang-banger on parole taking my life.

Or being able to go down and purchase a car without having to worry
about you know 90% of the parts being made overseas in some sweatshop.

I want my politicians, when they finally do get my vote, to do what the hell they said they were going to do in the first place.

I want the Abramoff’s of the world to be labeled what they…nothing more than organized crime in a better suit.

I want the Hollywood elite to make movies to entertain me. Not use their celebrity to sway me politically one way or the other.

Quite honestly, if you’re a has-been-pseudo-celebrity I want you to
go away quietly, so that I can remember you fondly through your
“artiste work” that’s left in the archives.

I want people to say something and when they say something look at
me in the eye. And mean what they say. Not say what they think I want
to hear. And then do what they want to later politically or any other
way.

I want to be able to go out and work and make a decent wage and buy
a home. Half the people that are listening to me right now can’t even
afford to buy a house unless they’re working three jobs.

And I want America to be America. All of those opportunities, all of
those things that made her great, I want those returned to the
forefront. If you want to come to this country we welcome you with open
arms. We simply ask that you abide by our laws. I don’t want you to
snub your nose at our laws, then take advantage of our opportunities,
and then cling to the constitution most of which you can’t even read
because you don’t speak the language.

I want us to secure our borders because the country is worth securing. The people that live here are worth protecting.

I want my country back. I want my children back.

I want some semblance of what this country used to be.

It’s worth protecting. It’s worth defending.

I don’t recognize this country anymore.

Not politically, not philosophically, not spiritually.

Whether you like it or whether you don’t God was a part of building
this great nation. To remove him is to take away the very foundation of
what this country was all about.

I don’t care about your political correctness!

I don’t want to know your sexual preference!

I could care less about all of that. Stop making it the headline of the day!

That’s not America.

I want my country back!

And the only way I’m ever going to be able to get this country back
is if I reach out to the brothers and the sisters that all feel the
same way and we say “Hell No! You can’t have our country.”

It’s not for sale! Take the price tag off this country!

Take the price tag off the heads of our children!

Stop it already!

The politically-correct-psychobabble-hug-a-tree-experts ; You are
not qualified to release sex offenders back into our neighborhoods.

The southern border, more than any other border, needs to be secured
tomorrow. For all those that wish to come to this country to take
advantage of her opportunity, to live under a constitution a living
document that breathes in and out just like you do, this country is not
for sale.

I should know. I’m one of the owners. You can’t sell it without my permission.

I want my country back!

A Sign that Property Value is Going Down

Three houses down, a car with a "Ron Paul for President 08" bumper sticker.

I do not mind having hard working Mexicans as neighbors, but a 'Paulbot' on the same street, ugh.

Folks, get a candidate who has a grasp of reality, like Fred Thompson.

Unknown Soldier

By Scott Ott.

In Arlington National Cemetery, just a few miles from here, you can
visit the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, where the unidentified body of a
brave soul rests and receives daily visitors on pilgrimage to honor his
sacrifice. On the side of the sarcophagus you can read this inscription:

HERE RESTS IN

HONORED GLORY

AN AMERICAN

SOLDIER

KNOWN BUT TO GOD

The Tomb of the Unknowns symbolizes a nation from which millions
have arisen to fight for freedom around the world at the cost of their
own comfort, safety and even breath. These are folks who know there’s
something more precious than this fleeting life. With eternity in their
hearts, and pictures of loved ones in their wallets, they thrust
themselves into the breach where evil had threatened to break out and
overwhelm. They showed themselves willing to go the distance, even to
go to a nameless grave, in order to preserve something with blood that
can’t be bought with money, or negotiated with subtle speech.

9/11 statement

Six years have passed since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade
Center and the Pentagon. Today is a day to remember those who lost
their lives at the hands of radical Islamic terrorists who despise our
values and way of life, as well as those men and women who have made
the ultimate sacrifice helping their fellow citizens that tragic day,
and defending freedom in the years that have followed.

We
must never forget that America has shed more blood defending freedom
here and abroad than all the other countries in the world combined. And
it was no different on 9/11. Before the twin towers fell, before the
smoke had cleared from the Pentagon, before the brave men and women of
Flight 93 had made a stand over Shanksville, Penn., Americans were
fighting back.

America’s heritage of defending freedom has
fallen to us. It is a great trust that our generation willingly accepts
and must uphold. But the best way we can do that – while honoring the
tragic loss of our fellow citizens six years ago today, and in all of
the years since – is to make sure our nation continues to stand for
freedom, remains strong and united in the face of threats, and secure.

Word: from a Marine

The message is this: Trust Freedom. Remember, tyrants never learn. The
restriction of Freedom is the limitation of human choice, and choice is
the fulcrum-point of the creative process in human affairs. As earth's
choicemaker, it is our human identity on nature's beautiful blue planet
and the natural premise of man's free institutions, environments, and
respectful relations with one another. Made in the image of our
Creator, free men choose, create, and progress - or die.

Free
men should not fear the moon-god-crowd oppressor nor choose any of his
ways. Recall with a confident Job and a victorious David, "Know ye not
that you are in league with the stones of the field?"

Muslims demand Sweden adopt Shari Law

Egyptian ambassador Mohamed Sotouhi told news agency TT that he and
a group of fellow ambassadors had agreed on a list of measures Sweden
needed to take if it was to secure a long-term solution to the Muhammad
cartoon controversy.

Let's see how can Sweden make the Muslims grow up, how do you make millions of screaming infants stop screaming and mature into responsible adults.

According to Sotouhi, “comprehensive measures” were required if
Sweden was to prevent some “amateur artist” from reawakening tensions
every other month.

Get over it, Free Speech allows some amateur artist to insult people. Ignore the insult and get a life.

“We want to see action, not just nice words. We have to push for a
change in the law,” he said. “Muslims need legal protection against the
desecration of the Prophet Muhammad, maybe something similar to the
protection enjoyed by Jews and homosexuals.”

We, the free people of the world, want to see Muslims living peacefully, we want the mass murders, the acts of terror, the killing of innocent people to cease.

Mr Ambassador, go back to the Muslims and tell them to stop killing each other, to stop attacking the Jewish state, to stop killing innocent people, to stop demanding we adopt Shari Law.

Enough already

Fred Quote

Before anything else, folks in Washington ought to be asking first and foremost, “Should government be doing this? And if so, then at what level of government?” But they don’t.
- Fred Thompson

Fred 2008

As Fred Thompson proclaimed his presidential candidacy on NBC's "Tonight Show," the most telling moment came when he sparked wild cheering as he spoke this truth:

America has laid down more of its blood and treasure in the cause of freedom than all other countries combined.

FIREARMS REFRESHER COURSE:

Those who hammer their guns into plows,
will plow for those who do not.

Hillary suppresses the truth.

The glorious Clinton machine, do as we say or you die.

You May Not Be Seeing "Path to 9/11" Any Time Soon...

The Emmy-nominated miniseries, which unflatteringly portrayed
President Clinton's role in the events prior to 9/11, is still not out
for purchase. The mini's writer traces the delay to the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton.

Thank You, Jimmy Carter (WorstPresidentEver)

Notice how many leaders of today’s Iran are from the 1979 embassy hostage takers?
The latest one is now running the IRGC.

If we have just stormed in and reclaimed our embassy instead of sitting in the White House - scared sh!tless..

Iran would have a different and most likely more moderate set of leaders today.

But Thanks to Jimmy Carter, we have a radical Iran which is threatening the entire world with nuclear terrorism.

First, Jimmy Carter helped overthrow the Shah -- because of human rights abuses,
replaced by hard line Islamic leaders, who continued the human rights abuses.

Then, Jimmy sat in the White House - too terrified to act with military force, but allowing our troops to enter Iran, before he chickened out....

If Jimmy had just simply told the military to get them out, NOW, I don't care how much of Tehran is flattened in the process....

The entire world would have been too scared to harm another American..

But no, Jimmy was the laughingstock of the world....

Thanks, Jimmy

It is still early

the Presidential Election is in November

2008

that is 14 months from now.

We are still early in this presidential cycle.
MILFORD, NH -- Labor Day is, to be sure, an artificial dividing point
for American politics. It’s not as if voters who were uninterested
Friday suddenly become, on Tuesday, voluminous consumers of
information. But somehow it’s become a custom to believe that, before
Labor Day, it’s “early.” After Labor Day, it’s – real time. Before
Labor Day, campaigns test messages; after Labor Day, they’ve settled on
one. A message, basically, is a reason. It’s a reason dressed up in the
stale language of politics – “change,” “hope,” “meeting challenges”
“stand up” – but somewhere in there, an argument about a reason lurks.

Wrong Labor Day -- You are one year, three hundred sixty five (365) days, early!

The 'message' from Democrats will change over the next 14 months, as they sail the political winds.

With apologies to all real dogs and puppies.
I really should not republish these, since they are so insulting to man's four legged friends.

new low for Democrats

Evacuation was 'individual responsibility,' Blanco testifies

By Paul Rioux

Times Picayune

August 29, 2007

ST. FRANCISVILLE -- Taking the witness stand Tuesday in the St. Rita's
nursing home trial, Gov. Kathleen Blanco said she did everything she
could to sound the alarm as Hurricane Katrina bore down on southeast
Louisiana two years ago today, but that the government must ultimately
rely on the "individual responsibility" of its residents to heed those warnings.

In three hours of testimony, the governor defended her response to
Katrina in what amounted to a mini-trial within the trial as attorneys
for Sal and Mabel Mangano argued that the government was largely
responsible for the deaths of 35 elderly residents who drowned at the
couple's nursing home in St. Bernard Parish.

Blanco said she declared a state of emergency three days before
Katrina's landfall and held frequent news conferences to alert the
public. "My message was very, very simple," the governor said. "I
wanted people to understand that this is potentially the biggest storm
we will ever deal with, and I urged people over and over to protect
themselves and their families by evacuating."

Funny, I don't recall the Dem. Governor calling for/ or even encouraging evacuation until the day before the storm struck...after President Bush called her and told her she needed to evacuate the City of New Orleans.

Gov. Blanco has committed perjury.

Two years ago, Gov Blanco (d) hindered efforts to rescue her people. She was busy blaming the Bush Administration....and now her tune is that it was an "individual responsibility" for the people to fend for themselves.

Gov. Blanco has committed perjury.

And this testimony is in a trial concerning the deaths of nursing home patients. So, according to the Democrat Governor - nursing home patients should have evacuated themselves.

Such warmth and caring.

1,000,000 Saves

As much as real sailors (Navy) joke about the Coasties; I must salute this milestone:

1 million people saved by the US Coast Guard.

The number one rescue was:

• Hurricane Katrina Search and rescue operations alone saved 24,135
lives from imminent danger, usually off the roofs of the victims’ homes
as flood waters lapped at their feet. Coast Guardsmen “evacuated to
safety” 9,409 patients from local hospitals. In total, 33,545 souls
were saved. Seventy-six Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary aircraft
took part in the rescues. They flew 1,817 sorties with a total flight
time of 4,291.3 hours in the air. The air crews saved 12,535. A total
of 42 cutters and 131 small boats also participated, with their crews
rescuing 21,200. Over 5,000 Coast Guardsmen served in Katrina
operations.

Yep, the pale blue sailors done good.

Bravo Zulu to the US Coast Guard.

How do you know, where the facts lead..

“This resignation is not the end of the story,” Senate Majority Leader
Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Monday in a statement that forecast Democrats’
intent to continue probing Gonzales’ tenure. “Congress must get to the
bottom of this mess and follow the facts where they lead, into the
White House.”

If you do not yet have the facts, how does Senator Reid know they lead to the White House?
Do the Democrats believe everybody is guilty until proven innocent!?

Will the Democrats stamp out all civil rights if one is elected President?

Islam: A Death Cult

Suseefan recounted the following item that was posted inside a major Mosque in London :

"If a kafir (non-Muslim) is going into a
Muslim country and he is walking by, he is like a cow. Anyone can take
him. That is the Islamic rule. If Muslims cannot take them, you know,
and sell them in the market, then kill them. It is ok".

35 killed as terror blasts rock Hyderabad Kerala Times

Hyderabad, Aug 25: At least 35 people were killed
and 50 injured, many seriously, as two powerful bombs went off almost
simultaneously at an amusement park and a popular eatery in the heart
of Hyderabad Saturday evening in the city's ghastliest terror attack.

Several
of the injured were battling for life in a government hospital as
police and detectives got into the act of trying to find those
responsible for the well-planned terror attacks in the Andhra Pradesh
capital.

The first blast went off at the government-run Lumbini
Amusement Park at around 7.45 p.m. when some 900 people were watching a
laser show just across the road from the state secretariat. At least
six people were killed there.

Even before the stunned
authorities could react, another explosion, seemingly more powerful,
ripped through Gokul Chat Bhandar, a well-known eatery about five km
away, killing at least 25 people.

Simultaneous bombings? Sounds familiar.

A large number of people including women and
children were present.
The park is usually full of people out with
their families on evenings, especially on weekends.

Women and children? Islam loves that.

Minutes
after the first blast, another powerful explosion ripped apart Gokul
Chat Bhandar, which is thronged by huge crowds on evenings. The eatery,
famous for its lip-smacking fast food, was littered with body parts,
pieces of human flesh, belongings of the victims, plates and other
utensils.

Note India is not, repeat not a Muslim country.
But that does not stop Muslims from murdering INNOCENT people.
Islam is a Death Cult
Islam worships Death
Allah is Satan.
